Vader lines on command.

Maybe you can seat the Adafruit Sound FX board into a screw terminal 'shield' like this:

https://www.ebay.com/i/172378711204?chn=ps

The labels would no longer match... and you might need to trace the terminals to ensure the order...

but would probably work if the pin count is the same or less than a Nano
@vader45 (or anyone else for that matter)..

If you need help soldering.. I can help.. or develop a kit.. whatever.

Let me know.

I would be interested in someone soldering a full kit for me. I would pay.

Not a problem,...

soldering this kind of stuff is fairly easy.

(its when you get into SMD components they tend to get a bit more difficult)

What kind of kit/end result(s) are you going for here? Standalone? With Arduino?

I have a prototype done by the weekend (probably tonight if my wife does have plans for us)..

But lets talk feature list...etc.. wants..etc..

Powering it is usually the first step...

It will need a +5v stable supply.

So if you do NOT want to use extra components..etc.. then you will need to find/source something that gives +5v output.

I just want something basic with the buttons in my gloves and a 9 volt battery to power it.

Im thinking if wiring going down my sleeves and then out the collar and down my back to attach the board to the back of the belt.

I would just need a jack connected so I can connect my own speaker.

Well...

We need to sorta pick our poison here.. :)

If you are looking for a direct turn key product.. that may be a bit more than expected.

Especially if we are talking about going the custom PCB route..

(with on board voltage regulator, and a speaker jack....etc)

Where as sourcing a +5v battery source would eliminate the need for a voltage regulator..etc..

+9v battery wont last very long (they are notorious for sucking.. and have little current)

Are there a set of vader voice lines you want to use?

Using a breadboard might help on costs and time....

or a strip board to make the connections a little more secure/permanent.

I wont be doing anything 'glove' related.. you can mount the switches how & where you like.

I'm all dumb with all of this talk about electronics..just do what you think is best because I certainly don't know what that is.

The lines I want are

"Yes"
"No"
"The force is strong with this one"
"As you wish"
"Join me and together we can rule the galaxy"

I dont do any audio stuff..

You'll either have to search to grab these clips yourself.

I'll make a demo this weekend when I get the time.. (have a family party thing today)

Hey vader45 ! I saw this and it made me think of you...

There's a bazillion tactile switches at Digikey.com and Mouser.com if you decide to go for it and make your own setup.

I purchased several different types from Digikey for my lightsaber builds, if you get overwhelmed trying to figure out sizes, etc., let me know and I can put a few together on a ruler so that you can get a better gauge of some of the sizes that are available. I was surprised by the sizes of the buttons I had purchased.
