F&M B-Wing, Orange conversion

Ok I found some 0.25 mm styrene sheet so I was able to do the missing armor plates !

Well I ran into a big problem, I was not able to vacform them over the F-14 tanks :s The rear panels were the biggest problem. So I cut thin strips and do like a ship hull :)

I added the last details : styrene chips, wires etc

Dont forget the styrene strips on the side of the 312T engine

These strips were part of the casting on the original so you have to do the same on the bottom too ! :)

Some more wires...

One strip was missing on the Saturn stage so I added one in styrene.

I rebuilt the boxes that sit on the Saturn stage, the original were not tall enough. I also added a piece of styrene that is only on the Orange as far as I know.

More panels, too bad, it was to late when I noticed I was taking ref of the blue B for the upper panels :s I can live with that :)

Opposite side (the panels are right on this side) :

I did shot a light coat primer to see the imperfections :

Hmm can spot 2 tiny airbubbles on the leading edge of the wing that I need to fix !

Hope you like :)

Guys, I need your help again, I'm bad in English so you will probably find the words I'm missing !

What do you read ?

bwing52.jpg

I read

CAUTION
DOOR TO MUST BE
CLOSED CLOSED DURING INLET
DONT XXXX CHECKOUT

I'm missing the "XXXX" words, please correct me if the other are wrong ! Thank you in advance :) (I read "pamp")

Looks like "DUNY PAMP CHECKOUT". Or maybe "PUNY RAMP CHECKOUT". WTF? :lol

Judging by the rest of it which isn't proper English either, maybe it's Japanese "Engrish"?

That was I thought the 'door to be must' was quite funny :p

It'll be barely visible anyway, going to chose one of your answers guys ! :D

I've been looking at this decal for an hour now trying to find something that doest say anything ! :facepalm

Downright incredible. I've always liked the b-wing, such a unique design. This is just outstanding work.

Yes, 1/32 :)

Well we're getting close to the end now ! (woot I havent touched my airbrush for alsmot 2 years now ! Last model I painted was also a model built by Bill George, the Shuttle, I must finish it someday :p).

Today I worked on the secondary weapons.

I removed the back of the part and replaced it with the original kit parts :

Then I built the barrels of the cannons with brass and alu :

In place with the Gepard part :

I added the last parts (from original donors) for the main gun :

Still one ford engine exhaust to add though ^^

I replaced (well not really), I covered the rear wall of the cockpit with original kitparts, I just noticed today I had these parts... I milled quite a bit the resin details of the original casting to get everything fit :)

Oh Julien,

great job as always !
Can't wait to see it painted.
Would you give any infos of the kitparts you added ?

thanks
Andre
