Biggest objection is the stable boy at the end. Anakin was exceptionally strong in the Force, and knew about Jedi, but all he could do was pilot podracers better than any other human. In all of his time as a slave with Gardulla the Hutt or Watto, he had never fallen and instinctively caught himself with the Force, called a tool to his hand, drew on the Force to run from bullies faster or punch smart-mouthed Rodians harder, etc. So I'm not buying the stable boy just casually calling that broom to his hand. Inherent strength in the Force isn't enough. It took years of deliberate, conscious training for Luke to be able to call his lightsaber hilt to his hand. That last scene in general made no sense to me. Who got word out about Luke's showdown with the First Order? How did the stable hands see it? On a casino planet in the Corporate Sector, how have they even heard about the Jedi or Luke in the first place? They were born decades after the order had been wiped out and the Empire had been suppressing mentions.

I actually loved the stable boy at the end. However, I wish it was a standalone scene, not connected to the rest of the film.
Because I love the idea that you can end the Jedi, but you can't stop the force.
However, this series has completely destroyed the idea that tapping into the force is something that requires patience, and training, and concentration.

I never cared at all for fan fiction, but...
I'm glad you enjoyed it, it's almost ridiculous how much more I'm looking forward to the next chapter of this story than anything official right now.So many words to describe what I'm feeling, and yet...speechless.
Watching this at work, absolutely transfixed. What's that? You need me to do something for you? It's gonna be a minute.
If this was all there was, I already have enough to brush TLJ aside completely. Thank you for sharing this, and thank you SO MUCH for the mention!
I never cared at all for fan fiction, but the other day I was looking for something to listen to during walks and I bumped into this one amnd ended up listening to the whole thing from start to finish..

A tad too many wink-winks in the beginning that could be cut and the dialogue can be made tighter but boy, I find this guy's first draft so much more interesting than Rian's first draft.
Also I think @Keycube will find his Ben Solo in this story.

This story has so much more heart than what ended up on screen. Carrie said "it's about family, that's why it's so powerful" I was scratching my head in the cinema. But it's absolutely applicable to this one.
Thanks for sharing this . I somewhat agree with what you said about the ‘ knowing ‘ remarks and dialogue , but it still seemed more subtle and appropriate ( humour wise ) than what we actually got .
All in all this chapter one (?) , was imo , so much more of what I’d consider a faithfully true continuation / expansion of the saga . It had heart , was character driven with well balanced , considered levity - and most importantly it treated the principles with respect , and not some butt of a cheap joke .

The entire story is online in five chapters, the quality is pretty consistent and after the end I can't wait to hear his Ep9. I think Poe and Finn were a bit underused overall, but other than that it's pretty solid throughout. If this was all there was, I already have enough to brush TLJ aside completely.
Yes, thanks for sharing that. I actually teared up a few times listening to that. That is the story that should have been.
I listened to part one but he lost me with the too explicit force vision. It sounded a bit like wish fulfilment. Now, having read the above comments I'm gonna take the time to listen through to the conclusion.
Anyone find it interesting that Colin Trevorrow promised a "profoundly satisfying" answer to Rey's parents, and then he got fired and his drafts got scrapped? Didn't think much of it when it happened, but after seeing TLJ and what Disney/RJ consider satisfying, it's made me wonder if he had something really good in mind but it couldn't work with the visionary expectation-shattering spectacle that was TLJ.
Except that Kylo Ren has Skywalker blood in him.The voiceover in this teaser is so worthless now. Even more than just TFA made it.
