I definitely like all the large ships on your list and most of the smaller stuff as well.

I would like to see a 1/48 line of fighters including Y-wing, Vader's TIE and the rest.

It would be a long shot but would also enjoy a kit of the Sandcrawler at any scale.

I would just like Bandai to put their efforts into making kits of new subjects before making mini kits or maxi kits of existing subjects. I'd really like the chance to buy even one B-Wing, TIE Bomber, or Republic gunship instead of X-wings in three different scales and a dozen different box assortments.
I agree. I understand X-Wing and TIE Fighter kits are less of a risk because they're almost guaranteed to sell well, but at this point they've been done to death and if I lived to be 100 years old I would never, ever, ever buy another X-Wing or TIE Fighter kit. There are other popular subjects that have never been produced in styrene before, or have been produced poorly (MPC/Ertl B-Wing, I'm looking at you), so explore some of those options and give us Star Wars modelers something different to work on for a change.

I forgot to add i would LOVE a BIG Bandai Tydirium Shuttle! Id like a Sandcrawler too, but no smaller than 30cm in length, that would be so cool. The OT designs were so good.

A 1/48 TIE would be cool, but id rather get a 1/72 TIE Bomber or 1/72 B-Wing first. That way i can have them all flying together with hopefully a 1/72 BIG Falcon.

I guess Bandai make different sizes first, as they allready have the CGI model and development done, its easier/cheaper to make new molds of a smaller scale than design a completely new ship. That way they can easily generate more income faster to put into new models. Also tiny models are BIG models in tiny kids hands, the future of Bandai's income and our hobby. Hopefully Bandai's market research at hobby shows will say "make the BIG Star Destroyer model please". They allready make the big BB-8 so i think the futures bright for Bandai Star Wars!

I've also started to buy up the bandai kits. They should be way to small for my taste but there's just something about them that makes my wanna get them anyway. I never seen anything so accurate before. The small scale just makes them even more incredible!

Quick question. When they need glue (for mods and stuff) what do you use? I usually go for Tamiyas Thin quick dry cement when gluing styrene. Bandais plastic seems a bit different though.

Cheers.
Steve.

Tamiya thin cement works just fine on Bandai kits too. It's almost all I ever use.

I love the small scale because they don't take up a lot of space, look great, and they display awesomely!

I use Tenax 7R plastic weld or Plastruct plastic weld for any styrene kits. That is ll I ever use and have done so for 25+ years. The Tenax 7R company seemed to go belly up again as they have in the past, so getting that is harder to get now, but the Plastruct plastic weld is easy to get.

"Revell Liquid glue for plastics" the blue bottle with the needle nose.

Seems to be a magical never ending item, its dated with 2004 and still feel about half full ;) :)

Thanks for the help guys!
Lynn, I see your point. Back in the days I used to have an entire room dedicated to my props and models. Not the case any more. I figure in the same same footprint as a SS X-wing one could probably fit Bandais entire OT collection....with space for more!

Cheers,
Steve

:lol I feel ya, there. I like Bandai's approach to scaling the original miniatures to determine scaling for their kits, so I'm going to go for all the TIEs they do in 1:72 -- plus probably a few to convert into the various ones that aren't offered because EU. For Rebel ships, I've got my Y-Wing, and would love Clone Wars and Rebels versions so I can show the evolution. I want a B-Wing and a Z-95. I'm toying with T-65 and T-70 (and, presumably as the new films come out, the T-85) X-Wings for a similar design evolution display. I want to also build the cannibalized yellow X-Wing all the yellow panels on the ANH Red Squadron X-Wings came from. *heh* But for quantity? I'm going with the FFG X-Wing minis to put together a full ANH era starfighter group, painted to match reference where possible, and made up to fit in where not.

Yes. That. I had all of those back in the day. The X-, Y-, and A-Wings and TIE Interceptor were all roughly (very roughly) 1:72, but the B-Wing? *sigh* I know they were trying to fit the box, but couldn't they have broken the main wing down into sections to keep it the same scale? :cry
