This would be a kick-ass stand. Should be pretty simple to design and 3D print right?

I have one of those from the 1:6th sideshow figure. It is pretty badass and I wouldn't mind something along those lines for my display.
My wife bought me one for our anniversary over the weekend so I started modding it.

Mine just arrived from Amazon UK :)

I got customer service to check my order yesterday, they shifted it to be fulfilled from the warehouse that had the stock rather than the warehouse that the pre orders were allocated to.

Nice! I got the dispatch email today from Forbidden Planet, so we’ll see how long mine takes to get here...

After looking at one of the comparison pics here, I really think if someone altered the curve on the dome above the eyes to be less pronounced, it would look much better. here is a rough Photoshop I did to illustrate the difference. I think it makes a bigger factor in losing the 'cartoony look'. Just my 2 cents

Could somebody make a shot of the mask with the Rubies supreme dome on it?But please from the distance and not so near.
Best on a stand to see it with the neck.Thanks.

I tried, but it looks very wrong as it'll need the mount adjusting to sit right. My Rubies dome also has a warp in the right hand side flare, the Rubies alll have a slight issue there but while trying to fix mine it got worse. I can try to get a photo tomorrow if nobody else posts one, it's far too dark here now.

Ah I understand.Yes it should sit in the right position.I think you must remove the inside of the rubies first to place it on the mask.
Its really a shame that I have not one of this masks here..I have more than one Rubies domes.:(

I did take a few side by side photos with my Rubies Supreme last night, in each photo the Rubies is on the left and the Hasbro on the right. This Rubies has been modified which is why it doesn't look quite the same as they come out of the box

Managed to grab a few crappy phone pics this morning. The dome is balanced as best I could get it, due to the large mount C shape inside the dome it won't sit level on its own.

This dome has had the ridge sanded on each side to try to make it more prominent as the stock Rubies is almost flat. Also you can clearly see the warp in the right flare (left side in the photo)

I'm going to try and adjust the flare tonight with a heat gun and cold water, and I'll try to get better photos.

Thanks. But to make shots from a Vader you should never come so close. You must make the pics from a distance of 2 metres.

Okay, in a side by side comparison, I'm really seeing the width issue. On it's own, to the "uneducated", it looks just fine. This goes a long way toward explaining the issues.

I've taken these from 2m away. Unfortunately the light here isn't too good, it's overcast and raining and I couldn't get home from work earlier to take photos on better light.

The first shows the Hasbro dome in place. The second is the Rubies (I tried to get most of the warp in the dome flare out with a heat gun and cold water) balanced on top, is sits a little too far forward. The third photo is the Rubies pushed back a little so it lines up with the eye sockets and sirs a little lower at the back. The final photo is taken from a little higher with no zoom showing that I am 2m away, my table is just over 2m long and I took the photos from about 40cm further away from the edge of it.

It actually looks much better in real life, the photos don't capture it properly. The eyes don't look as wide, but as the face is a little wider than either the Rubies or the EFX it'll airways look a little fat.

Is the dome mount still inside of the Rubies dome? Because it still sits high on this face mask as it did on the Rubies. I think it would fit great with out that D mount on the inside.

Yes, the mount is still there, as I need it to fit it to the Rubies mask. In the 2nd photo the it's sitting as low it can go without being modified.

However, it might not make much difference. The Hasbro mount ring is much wider than the mount C piece on the Rubies, so touches the dome as well as the Rubies mount. Trimming the mount in the dome won't make it such much lower than it already does.
