The Last Jedi new prop picture SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER

Due to the shape and size of the arrows, the arrow plate, screws, and overall shininess of the saber. I would guess that is either the Master Replicas LE, or eFX Reveal saber.

Dude your 100% right!! eFX reveal!! You can see the seam line around the bottom of the emitter, where you can pull it to reveal the greeblie in side!!

@HALiwax I understand what you are saying but the 13 traces are not equal in size. A re-run would be better [emoji4]

I don’t believe the traces on the creepy uncle are equal in size. The first one closet to the pommel is much thinner then the rest

Either way I collect sloth cards like Pokémon, I gotta catch them all. ;)

I need some agreed upon consensus!

I think I would put down in the guide that we have two physical props, that we know about. And that the saber seen in the film could be on of those two, considering the heavy CG work that would have been done. Or it could be a third saber that we have yet to see, in the real world.

...but I don't know that there were two seen onscreen.

BTS stuff I can list in the appendix, but the primary entries are based on what is seen onscreen. Given that this saber only appears in FX/composite shots, the only question I have is the same prop used for when the blade is active and not, or is it one prop. Given it was scratch-made, like Kylo's, I'd assume the bladed and not-bladed is the same.

The world may never know... :(

Well perhaps, under the Creepy Uncle, simply state the differences between that and the RotJ Hero. Then in the appendix, list the TFA BTS and White Glove, and have note that says - It is assumed, due to the nature of the shot, and removal of Mark's hand, that the saber used, has gone through some heavy CG work. Because of this, it is entirely possible that either of these BTS sabers was used in the filming of that scene.

Looking at depth of the channel between the pommel and box section on the white glove saber... hard to tell but I think it's deeper than what's on it the TFA.

Okay, after hours of staring... I posit the following:

The white glove and the TFA BTS are NOT the same saber, based on tri-ring position, height of the box rails, and finish.

The tri-ring position does not match the ROTJ or TFA versions, but it does match what's onscreen in TFA. Obviously, the PCB and finish do not.

The depth of the space between the pommel and box section is similar to what is seen onscreen as well-- deeper than the ROTJ version. The TFA version is at an angle that just makes it too hard to tell.

The thickness of the flat edge of the rings is something that varies between most versions of this saber. The only two places we see rings that are even and this thick are onscreen in TLJ, and with the white glove.

Based on that, and the fact it was shown with nothing but TLJ props, I think the white-glove saber was used as the physical saber in shooting the scene in TLJ. That said, it was a composite shot as it included Luke's cyborg hand which would have to be placed into the shot, and his (or his stand in's) hand would have to be removed, leaving detail missing on the prop. So the prop, the box area especially, was heavily retouched in the shot which would explain the different finish and the changing button details (thick to thin, notched to no notch).

I can't say this for certain, but I'm 90% sure....

There is most likely multiple versions, belt hanger one and the ignited saber “light up” versions

There is most likely multiple versions, belt hanger one and the ignited saber “light up” versions because they have a lot up Rey and kylo

Unless more pictures are released, I think this about as close as we are going to get. 90% is a lot better than 75%:D

I don't think this is the case here. For such a short scene, one saber for each would have been made. And the lighting in that scene doesn't look right, it doesn't look like actual illuminated blades are being used. There a really strange green glow on Luke's left-hand sleeve even though the blade is off on his right......

In a normal world yes-- but the saber was only used in one shot, and all the scratch-made sabers in the ST are nearly identical to their stunt versions given that they are made from the same pieces.
