Planet Explorer

Even in primer gray, it looks superb. I can hardly wait to see it in color!

Everything is looking great. I love the cargo bay so much.

Yeah if the cargo bay is anything to go by I cannot wait to see what the exterior details will look like painted , I don't know if you mentioned it , what are the tracks from ?
thanks for the update

I believe he made the tracks from scratch. :)

The interior of this thing still blows me away. Can't wait to see her finished up.

Tom-san, Randy-san, SofaKing-san and Alex-san,

Without your kind support, I could hardly carry this build this far.
Especially, the building of this model was rather difficult than previous models.
I had to squeeze out many ideas and techniques. Tracks, wheels and suspension systems and so on.

Vacufoamedhero-san,
Thanks for looking.
I checked the previous pages and oh yeah, I did made that tracks for sure. Page 8 #197:D
That was April 2014.

Gentlemen! To reward your encouragement, I swear, I never mess the paint job! ...maybe....I hope so....

brilliant work, I think I'll start from the beginning again .....

Thank you very much krusinclone-san.
I always appreciate your kind support for all my work, Sir.

Here are some progress.

Scribed some panel lines.

Little detailing and rigging some equipments.

Here's a ladder to climb up to roof.

And the hatches.
This hatch is going into the ready room behind the end of cargo bay.

Another hatch on the other side.

Roof hatch.

Then I sprayed the primer and matte white for the basic pant.

And carefully peal the masking tapes off.

Thank you very much for looking.

Many detail paint is waiting and apply decal.

Now I am thinking about the mission logo mark like NASA does.
I want to hear your suggestion for that.

When it's getting dark, I will post some more pics.

I'm little tired today,

Thank you very much for looking.

Cheers my friends

All the best.

Wow.. Wow.. Wow...

Those panellines. So much more detail Katsu-san, that really added so much to the model. And to finally see the interior through the windows. Amazing.
A mission logo sounds great, but what did you have in mind? Not too big I hope..
Cheers my friend.
Jim.

Ps. How is your wife doing? Hope she is recovering well....

Thanks, Jim-san.

Yeah, as you said, the logo should be not too big.
The circle one and blue for basic color.

Thanks for asking about my wife.
She is all right and be back to work day after tomorrow.

WOW, not only a very detailed interior but an object lesson for us all in entertaining us while revealing the build ....well done
which planet is it exploring ......I think NASA could learn from this design
I love how it's rich with detail, if you ever display this at a show you'll have to put a barrier around it and mount it at chest height
my original favourite superhero is the Silver Surfer , so thanks for getting him in there ;)
also I think you should hang some space suits in the airlock and there is always grab medical boxes at the doors :) , but it does depend on where this beauty was meant to explore .

Thannk you for sharing and I cannot wait for the paint job , please share the progress
and forget mission patch this requires a soundtrack of activity and full titles
have you thought of a name for the vehicle

Thank you very much, Vacformedhero-san.

I'm so so so happy with your kind and pleasant comment.

Silver surfer !! That's it. That's what I'm trying to say!!

Space suit and med box is something I missed to add.
Especially, some med boxes are very good item to add. Thank you very much for cool suggestion.
I will try to fix it.

I am so happy that you are projecting your idea and images to my model.

Year! your dream is my dream. We share the dream !

Thank you very much.

I have no words.. That's just amazing!

Thank you very much! HughB-san!

What better way to end a build day with a cold drink... Fantastic as always. Question: Are you going to add weathering and make her look old and beat up?

Thank you so much, SofaKing-san.

Yes, I do some weathering but may be not so beat up way.
I'd like to make it as in several month mission on a planet like wild Texas.

And as Vacfoamedhero-san said, I have to give her a name.

How about 'Taiowa' ? This is just one of the option but I like it so far.

As for other option, the name of the famous explorer?
 Huum ...

An update from Katsu-san is the ideal way to start a week.

It could be that this team only explores planets suitable for humans (possibly in advance of colonists?) so EVA suits might not be needed except in emergencies.

How about 'Taiowa' ? This is just one of the option but I like it so far.

Taiowa: the Hopi god of creation. I've learned something new today!

Love the name! I would def go with Taiowa.

Are you thinking a desert rocky terrain or more of wild grass and flowers type terrain? Either one would work. :)
