Last summer I was fortunate enough to grab me one of these beasties. So, I thought I'd put my spin on it.
To start, I decided to fabricate a hatch from the Command Module to the front Walkway. I removed the square block on the CM backing and made an inverted doorway.
From there, I made the hatch for the Walkway. It also doubled as the battery compartment.
I dd the same for the rear Walkway. But instead, the Engines will mounted to this compartment lid.
I re-enforced the Landing Feet by adding pins to the shocks and aluminum tubing over the plastic leg stems.
The redid the Landing Feet on Passenger Pod by redoing the shocks in the same manor.
I found these LED strip lights at the dollar store and used them extensively throughout the model. They require low voltage, so I could use multiple of them.
I had to un-solder each LED and resistor from the strip to accommodate them within the model.
