Celebration Europe 2, 26.-28. July (2013), Essen-Germany - Who is going?

well I spent all of the weekend on main stage. If you guys got to see one of the panels there and saw R4-CE2 (Warwicks sidekick droid), then you kinda got to see me, as this was my R2-D2, specially converted for Celebration, and I was controlling him during the shows.
Wish I could have met up with you, but I didn't get to socialise half as much as I'd have wanted to.

I saw a couple guys with RPF shirts (the UK flag ones) during my 501st booth duty and while in armor.
No RPF shirts spotted during my pub crawl nights, though.

Markus, Du Blastermaniac - Dich hätte ich wirklich gern mal kennengelernt. Na vielleicht kommst Du ja mal in Herne bei Dan und mir vorbei. ;)

Hey guys,

I just returned today at 16:00 ... and have been offline since Thursday ... so catching up is going to prolong this absolutely fabulous weekend at SW CE 2in Essen. Although my feet do look like Chewbacca's right now from running behind the scenes stage to the celebration main stage hall and back via the VIP room passageway ... this long weekend was a blast. It's been great meeting up, in between my extra added shifts on the crew schedule, with you Rebelscum, Rocko, R2Dan, Lonepigeon and please do just add yourselfs to the list if we shook hands as well okay, since I have met so many wonderful people working SW CE 2 Crew and others, some even from Lucasfilm Ltd. which indeed were really insightful, that my head is still spinning ... and sorry I was unable to attend at the named places above in this thread ... it's been CRAZY!

I, like you, was thrilled meeting all of you after all these years hidden behind a screenname! :lol( OdiWan72, DaddyfromNaboo, Sym-Cha, Lonepigeon, tk2647, Snowmann... )
Unfortunatly i missed a couple of persons i would have liked to meet or speak a few more words with than i was able to.
Anyway, it was a very nice weekend after all and. i'm already curious where CE3 might take place...

Btw. If you have any news ( CE2 exclusive ) to share, feel free to chime in here:

Thanks Rocko for coming up to me and introducing yourself ... as you I wished I would have taken more time after the shows ended to come to the cantina's to meet you guys ... however I also made new friends that joined me for diner downtown. Next time we'' definately have to have our own booth at CE 3 ... perhaps in EuroDisney, Paris in 2018 ... no?

Sym-Cha, I missed you it seems. It was all a bit overwhelming. Also, I wasn't near the main stage too often, I rocked the floors most of the times to catch up with worldwide 501st - which was a feat in itself...

And of course I've spoken to Spirit Juggler and his amazing sidekick ... that's so awesome dude ... I hope you had a safe trip home, man!

Had a blast as well ladies and gentlemen :)

Have been to eigelstein, PlanB and Ego Bar on saturday during eaaaaarrly sunday ;)

Seen you at the gate to the ROTJ screening on friday Chaim but you were too busy to react to my calls and I didn't want to stop the crowd from getting on the Tummelwiese. Also had a short talk with adamata but missed Philip aka rebelscum :(

Was very nice to meet RocKo, Catch, el loco, bobadiewix, Darth Lars, daddyfromnaboo, R2Dan, Jörg Steegmüller ( forgot your screenname buddy , sorry )...

You were a great host! Thank you so much for showing us the town and how to drink beer right in Cologne. :)

COLE!!!

Didn´t know you are an active RPF member, even if I´ve read your screen name a couple of times in the past.

Too bad we didn´t had more time (and that the more interesting places were closed on mondays), there´s so much more to see and do in and around Cologne :eek:hwell

Anyway, you´ve been some great guests and very welcome if/ when you return to Germany :thumbsup
Notice to myself:
Praetorium, Roman-Germanian museum, National (WW2) Archive, visiting a soccer game and show you some more of our Breweries....

...just to name a few possible activities for next time ;)

p.s: Sorry again for calling you PAUL at first, I simply misheard :$

Awwww ... if mini-me hadn´t come down with a severe case of the pink eye, I´d have joined you guys. But still glad that I got to see your presentation and meeting you!

And of course all of you other guys and gals that I got to meet that I probably forgot to mention!

Michael

I guess I'm not leet enough ...

Dang! You know what? IF we meet at Jedicon next year (in case you can make it) you can consider this post here an advance order of one to three beers of your choice on my bill! And def one on Markus´ bill for not knowing "leet"
And I guess my english skills are insufficient :(... what is LEET ?

Markus

Short for "elite", usually write 1337. Don´t worry, buddy, it´s just us being old, not your skills being insufficient.

:p Those are the beers that you missed out on during the pub crawl (General surgeons warning: wearing RPF apparel may or may not lead to increased consummation of alcoholic beverages when worn in groups of two or more people.)

Of course talking to you, even only briefly at the presentation, was fun! Yes, we got to meet Darth Lars, too !!!

Markus :)

Aah ... Marcus, you should have come up to me ... since we were just fooling around that fence because one of our crew had a hard time cutting the Q, eventhough whilest still wearing his SW CE 2CREW shirt gave him immediate access to the park ... anyhow I did speak to Philip Wise a.k.a. Rebelscum every morning right before opening . . . wishing him another spectacular day at SW CE 2 with his Official Pix business. And I'm still living in the afterglow of this fabulous weekend in Essen . . .
