1:1 Millennium Falcon Cockpit Replica - Group Build

The suspense is killing me Sofa!! I'm with Daboudzi in that it's going to be a big reveal when you walk from the corridor to the inside of the cockpit:cool

With the door closed and a full entrance corridor.. i guess it will created a great suspense and undescribable feeling just before the door opens and you get in the cockpit. The immersing experience is gonna be out of the charts!!! I'm really getting excited!! Can't wait for the next posts... Cheers!!

Hi D,

I think you hit the nail right on the head! The half walls were nice but they didn't give you the full effect I was hoping for. I'm hoping I can pull this off! :)

Great amount of work there SK!!!

Thanks, W! I've been really pushing myself to get past these few major hurdles.

Hey J!

I'm really excited to make that walk as well. There wont be any missing pads, exposed pipes or wires. And I am planning on adding the familiar round corridor lights to add to the experience.

I'm still debating how to create the outer ring (where the black outlines are). If I cut the holes, it makes it a little tougher to be able to add / extend the corridor even farther - if that was to ever happen! ;)

You have a life too!?! (just kidding)

Remember, you're doing the cockpit for fun, we're just just admiring your talent and (pretty amazing) perseverance.

Hi Gang!

I had a few minutes in between personal weekend events and I was able to make some forward progress. :)

Got most of the cockpit entrance panels primed and painted and all the greeblies attached

Hey FF,

Not much of a life but I do manage to get away every now and then! ;)

I really all the continued support. And we're SO CLOSE to the end!

No imperial credits for you until you return!! ...but relax and enjoy the time off anyway.

Thanks! I live on the Outer Rim so Imperial credits no good out here anyway! ;)

Now you have me wondering! :)

I haven't checked in on this thread in a couple years, but you have blown me away with your progress! Really fantastic work man.

Hey R,

A couple of years? WOW! What the heck have you been doing? Thanks for the kind words and I'm glad your back!

Always a pleasure to see your updates Sofa! You've never let me down;) It's looking great...are you going to dirty the back of the cockpit also (just sayin' 'cause those screws are looking too good:D)

Thank you so much, Joe! I appreciate the continued support and positive comments. The weathering on the cockpit entrance is greeblies will continue. The new greeblies look too fresh and out of place. I'll dirty them up enough to blend in. :)

Ah, sorry! My 2 year old daughter got hold of my phone for a brief moment but she managed to post in your thread. I had to replace it with that, but what she was really going to say is: " This project is amazing, I really enjoy following it and super excited to see it so close to completion!". :)

Hey G,

LOL! No apologies necessary! Thank your daughter for the very kind words. I think at two she's smarter than I ever was. ;)

Post of the day!

Agreed!

SK,

I came across your build thread the other day doing research for a DeAgostini Falcon build. I was so blown away, I pulled a 3 day marathon reading all 361 pages. All I can say is WOW! It's funny reading it from front to back all at once and seeing it evolve from a simple console to a full cockpit and now the corridor. There were so many times I waned to chime in with a suggestion, remembering that that particular post was 3 or 4 years old!

I equate the way your build has evolved and changed over time to building an entire car by starting with the radio and building out from there. I've lost count how many times the Volvo panels have been rebuilt. Is it 6 times now? You're a better man than I, Gunga Din. Keep pushing forward and keep up the awesome work! Oh, and no more weekends off. My marathon came to a screeching halt last weekend. I need closure on the Nav seats!

It's like reading an entire book over the weekend only to find someone ripped the last 3 chapters out. Closure, I need closure!
