E11 blaster from scratch 2 week build

I currently have a WTB thread for some original or good copies of sterling grips, not many people look in the WTB, so if anybody knows of any please let me know
In the meantime I will be trying to make some

Update time
I’ve been drawing up on autocad the grip and trigger section it will be a few days before I get these back from cutting and for test fitting

I just need some grips now for the overall test fit

A little up date

my original sterling grip has arrived, can’t say the same for my metal parts I’m having cut

Update time
As this I no longer a 2 week build and no longer needed for my birthday party I’ve now decided to add ( at a later stage ) electronics
ive received some metal bits back for my trigger and grip section, very disappointed as I didn’t get everything I needed to do some major work on this, I’m going to have a functional trigger, I’m going to add a switch and spring when I put this together, later down the line I’m going to add a blaster sound card and a LED in the barrel
DAEF7AE5-01E9-43CF-BA55-996C4E6B553C.jpeg
over the weekend im going to make the mag and finish the power cylinders

Update time
I’ve cut some 10mm ally tube to size and made some end caps, I then filed the end caps to shape
E8AC8B0E-6A45-4FEB-9677-ACAF27D62C8C.jpegBDF0B4C5-C1DA-4E66-8CD0-31EEDBA7CA2C.jpegA7E68E18-9D57-4E93-B51B-F36361655792.jpegCC35869D-C745-4471-9150-B4DDA684E10B.jpeg
When I was happy with the end caps I drilled a 3mm hole in both ends and inserted a piece of 3mm ally tube through the centre, I then primed, painted and fit them to the cylinder holder
image.jpgimage.jpg

I cut some some plastic pieces for the magazine that I downloaded, I glued them together and dremmeled out the 2 groove’s in the top of the magazine

I then primed the magazine to see how it looks, still a little more sanding and filling to do as well as the clip to build
image.jpg
I also made a piece for the folding stock to pivot on, 15mm plastic pipe cut and glued into place

This is where I’m at

Bengrim09, that E11 is fabulous.
This is another great example of why I love this forum. The skills and the patience people have are just staggering.
I wish I had just a minute percentage of them.
Lovely build.

Thank you for your kind words nailuj
It’s a labour of love and I love building, working with my hands has always been my way of relaxing, doing nothing bores me.

A little update

while watching the TV I thought I would make the little clip on the side of the magazine
F5F56666-3906-4627-B77F-11367E7FE85E.jpeg
A little refinement still to do on the magazine, then I will prime and paint it

Update time
first thing I did was to use 2 strong magnets to hold the magazine in place, the clip for holding the magazine in place was only for show, as you can see I stuck one in the mag and the other in the mag holder, when the E-11 is tilted and shaken it won’t drop out

I wanted to add the little detail to the bottom of the magazine, I searched all my junk pile for a small ball bearing but I couldn’t find anything that would work, but I then found this little plastic ball that my wife has donated for the build ( Shhhhh she doesn’t know she has donated this ) I cut a hole in the bottom of the magazine and glued it in place from the inside as I didn’t want it to stick out to far

What she she has unknowingly donated is or was the end of her stitch un-picker from her sewing box ( I will search high and low in anything for my build )

Hopefully, fingers crossed I should have the rest of my bits back for my grip and trigger section very soon

The next job I’m going to do is put little screws in the end of the scope

I wonder if my blaster would get a pass from the 501st ? Not that I would take it out trooping, this is going pride of place on a stand, oh by the way !! that’s another thing I’m going to design is a stand, something a little bit different to the normal stands out there
oh and another thing ( I nearly forgot ) who makes good plaques ? I would like one for my E-11 blaster

Thats all for tonight
thanks for looking

First of all I have to say: awesome!
You really did a great work, congrats (y)cheers
I can provide you info for the plaque: the best, out there, are the plaques from Rich.

Waiting to see your display stand ;)

Thanks enrico for your kind words
ive just looked at the plaques and they are perfect, I will be in touch with him as soon as I know what size I need, got to design the stand first, I think that might be drawn up over the weekend

Another little update
I’ve fixed the folding stock in place, for such a little job it took me a hell of a long time to get the fixings correct
The grip is only temporarily sitting in place as I’m still waiting on parts
the white plastic pipe that I’ve used for the pivot point has a piece of 10mm aluminium inside it, it has a M4 thread tapped through the center of it for the M4 screws that hold the stock in place from either side

I’m hoping that I get my grip/trigger bits back this week, I’ve also got lots of little refinements to do, the more I work on it the more I see that could be better, as it’s only for my own shelf and family members wouldn’t know how inaccurate it is I won’t be over doing the refining.
If I was charging man hours on this build I could have bought a new one !!
thanks for looking

Update time !
About time I hear you say !
I can’t believe it took this long for my “laser cousin” to get these finally cut, he’s been busy he says !! To busy to reply to my texts or answer my calls !!
Any how, I’ve finally got back ALL my trigger parts, I will be putting all these parts together over the next couple of days, I want to make it a functional trigger and incorporate a micro switch for future electronics but the switch is a little to big, so until I get a smaller one progress might be a tad slow
View attachment 825496

But it not to slow !!
Ive glued the first pieces together, I’ve had to refine the trigger shape as it wouldn’t move when it was all fitted together, as you can see there is a nice gap behind the trigger, room for a switch
image.jpg

Then the cover plate, I also need to fix a nut in the handle section so I am able to fix the grip to the trigger housing
image.jpg

Now the top cover plate
image.jpg

I’ve placed everything together to give you an idea of the overall look
image.jpg

And together with the blaster, not fixed Just held in place

Update

its not not much but I’ve just put a spring on the trigger
while at work today and using my pipe cutters for plastic pipe I noticed a spring I wanted for my trigger
so I removed it

When I got home I cut it up and reshaped it

Had to do a spot of cutting away away for the spring to function properly, when the cover plates are on you don’t see the butchering I had to do to get a functional trigger

Just need to find a micro switch to fit behind the trigger

thanks for looking

Update
I’ve found a little micro switch, in fact I found 2 built into a motorised valve for a central heating system, it was in my scrap pile, the second switch is going to go in my ANH version E-11
A8FB0E71-8A49-4492-940D-9DD807C64139.jpeg
With a new addition to my tools “ helping hands for soldering “ I soldered wires to the micro switch and to a red LED I had from an old project

I pushed the wires down the barrel, temporarily re-wired it to see if it was bright enough

Ive also found the perfect place for the battery pack, it fits snugly into the bolt

I’ve picked up some 8mm ally pipe today to make the cocking lever

Just need to put it all together now

thanks for looking

Okay so without the electronics work, how long so far would you say this has taken and how much money has it cost?

About £50, time scale !!! Over 3 weeks on an average 4 hours an evening (ish) I’ve really lost count
