Destiny hunter for C4 in Winnipeg

My costume I have been working on has been put on the back burner. No way it was going to be done in time. I needed something for the Con in Edmonton Ab. So i built a quick and dirty Hunter costume. I am now making it look a little better. I did not take many pix but I will post what I have and will take more. These are the pix from the first go round.

This what some of the stuff looks like now. I completely redid the mask. It is not a helmet....for heat reasons. Oh...and it is a paintball mask with some plastic bits glued on. The shoulders I made bigger just to add some bulk.

Here is the cape and under suit. the cape may get more colour added if I have time. The overalls are still a work in progress.

This is the rifle I will use. It is modified from last years costume. I may do more to it...I may not. I can live with it the way it is.

Thanks. Ya I saw that video. Don't think I will have time to make one. Looked at buying a thorn hand gun, but the $ stopped me.

Here is a question. I am stumped.

The pink bits. I have no idea what colour to paint them. I should paint the boots a tan of some sort but to be honest...just to damned lazy. Back to the pink bits. They could just be grey? But I'm tired of blah......got any ideas? Getting painted soon.

Had to change the mask. Breather looked to small and was bugging me. Ok...I dropped it and it broke off....so i took made it bigger.

Was going to paint the boots a sand colour. Did a test a couple days ago. The test was perfect...lots of flex in the paint and stuck well. As I was thinking about painting the boots I happened to pick up the test strip....and am I glad I did...paint does NOT stick. And has NO flex now...I have no idea why.


Anyway. Made the armour bits for the boot.


Got bored and could not sleep. So, here ya go. God I hope hot glue will work on this. It should....loves vinyl and foam, so ....?

finishing of some parts.


Some fake buckles.


fake buckles installed. For left thigh.



Done adding some color to the under suit. It is not done yet but the rest will have to wait until I have everything else done so I can see the complete costume.



paint a few of the grey parts black just so it does not look to overdone. BTW..if you are wanting to change colour on the rubber bits on gloves like this. Use Dupli-color vinyl dye. dries in 30 - 60 seconds and does NOT come off.



Added some colour. This if for the right bicep.

Some progress...not sure if I trust how I put it together. May have to change the plan tomorrow...we'll see. l also need to find some way to hold the top in place that I can operate with one hand blindfolded...I will not be able to see that far down with the mask on.

Have the bits for the left boot done. The black and red part is 2 DVD drive face plates from computers painted and glued back to back. Running out of time. Can't be fancy now...just get'r done.

OK...here we go. This would look better if i had lost 20 lbs...but that's the joy of turning 50.....sigh. Now if I had bought tan strapping last year...lol.
