The thin-necked lightsaber appreciation society

Yeah, I noticed that. Sorry but how do I post pics? I’m doing this all off of my phone and I’m having a hell of a time with this site. Thanks

My KR/OR Hero modified for accuracy, including sanding the bottom edges of the control box down to the correct inward bevel, and removing the black anodizing on the front facing side of the step under the copper neck.

Also removed the clearcoat that comes standard on the hilt so that I could scuff the copper to a better machined/satin finish as opposed to the polished look that it comes with. I then re-clearcoated with lacquer to prevent patina.

Well guys, finally after 3 years of headaches, blood(okay no blood was actually shed:D), sweat, and tears, and a lot of mistakes. I have finished my first lightsaber..................finally.

I present my idealized Obi-Wan saber, made using a Korbanth K4. I envisioned this as the way his saber looked 4 years before A New Hope.

I hear you! I was VERY lucky I was able to get one. I also got very lucky with a cold call to a British militaria website...I emailed them to see if they had a hales grenade, didn’t hear back...wrote it off as a no. About a month later they sent me a photo of one they had. I almost died.

The thought of trying to find a Derwent engine part (at any price) makes my soul die a little. But looking at someone else's find is always a treat.
