Show your custom Lightsabers!

image.jpegimage.jpegimage.jpegimage.jpeghi all
worked on my clamp today. I decided to use aluminum flashing to cover the clamp. the sidebars I made myself sometime ago.need a new lever as well. The old one snapped off a while ago.I like it but it looks a little too plain

Still working on my custom saber. Needed a clamp lever so.......,I made one! Started with an exacto knife handle from another project and began filing away this is the result! Came out kinda like a v2 lever but longer. And the clamp functions. Yay. Still have to smooth it out and polish it. Figured its a custom saber so it needed a custom lever!

Who here an done a black Zeiss saber? I'm himming and hawing over the black T track and I'd like to avoid the rectangular bar grips..thanks!

@AnubisGuard did one if I recall that was pretty sweet. Post #489 in this endless thread has Dr. Tayln's which is my personal favorite. I have one, but I haven't had the guts to deface it yet. The pic I posted in your off-brand thread had some of @ScottD's style grips on it. (rubber banded)

Ah thank you! I didn't feel like scouring the thread :lol

I'll have to snap some pics, I found a black/gold HP calculator lens board with bubbles I decided to use with it, as well as my Luston clamp. Much better than the one it came with!

Yeah the Zeiss clamp is kinda meh. I'm going to use an MPP clamp on mine. The Zeiss clamp, I swapped out the washer/nut and filled the innards with some black styrene and got both a edge card and bubbles in it and used it on my minicam saber:

Show us the HP bubbles!

Hi all.

For those of you that like machined sabers and/or sabers with electronics, I made this one for my 8 year old nephew. I call it Saber 32.

This is my first hilt using a multi-die LED, my first with flash on clash and features "the very first beveled-to-fit-the-hilt activation box made by yours truly".

Specs:

ARKM Sabers 7/8" dia. R2TB Razor blade plug
rB,rB,W Tri-Cree LED with 18 degree lens
TCSS 1" dia. LED/heat sink module
Nano Biscotte v3
Keeppower 18650 3400 mAH battery (protected)
18650 battery holder
TCSS MHS Speaker Mount V6
Solo's Hold 28mm speaker
TCSS Kill plug style 5 (Silver)
TCSS 7/8" dia thin-wall polycarbonate tube with TCSS LED blade diffuser (same one used for 1" thick-walled blades) and TCSS 7/8" dia. rounded blade tip
TCSS 16mm Anti Vandal Momentary Stainless Switch

I made an interesting choice on activation box placement. I dislike activation boxes somewhat but realize that switches have to go somewere (and preferably be easy to remove) so of course I use them. For this build, I opted to place it where ones hands will not cover it when wielding two-handed. As such, I placed it at a 45 degree offset from the "top" of the saber. This placement was dependent on if a person is right-handed or left-handed. My nephew is right-handed so this offset makes this saber pretty much only suitable for wielding by right-handed people (sorry southpaws).

The TCSS chassis is held in place via pressure by an 8-32 set screw in the knurled section of the hilt.

I'd like to thank Solo's Hold for shipping the speaker to me so fast and ObiShane for all his wiring and soldering advice while I was wiring up this saber. You guys rock!

Onto the pics...

The chest below is from a set of two different sized chests from Hobby Lobby. That is the smaller chest (which will completely fit inside the larger one). They come completely empty (and smell strongly of whatever wood they are made of when opened). My mom did the interior work.

Here are pics of my nephew sparring with with his new saber against his father. My stepbrother is using my converted Hasbro FX ANH Vader. Sadly, He did not say the "I am your father" line when sparring with his son, lol.

Vid of them sparring. Proud uncle moment here... I only mentioned changing the font in passing to his Dad, while changing it and the kid must have been watching like a hawk.

Awesome!
I dont always like machined sabers but this one is a beauty! Every time I think about wiring a custom up for lights and sound I see what goes into it and chicken out...

ARKM - that's amazing!

Question - I need to replace my son's saber's covertek knob and belt clip (one is broken and the other got lost) but I'm a bit loathe to just order up another plastic pair as my son is just shy of 8, very active (when not playing video games) and I want something durable. I had considered the one from Parks Sabers but the amount they are asking in shipping is more than that cost of the parts (unless I did something wrong and there's another option I missed). Where can I source up a good clip and wheel?

The clips are plastic so not much you can do there but those and machined aluminum Covertec knobs/wheels with beveled bottoms can be bought from The Custom Saber Shop.

Nice machined saber, love seeing those. Especially liked the knurled grip

Love the internal workings. Pretty amazing craftsmanship. How long did this take?

Here we go! Silent z helped me carve this up from 1mm aluminum, sculpt bend and rivet this emitter together, and there's that HP bubble strip - ideas guys? Keep the emitter?

im excited for this one!
