Re: Iron Man 3 : Iron Man mk42 v2.0[Updated 4/29] MOAR SUIT PICS!

amazing build man , keep up the awesome job. I'm newbie cosplayer and builder and advice that be handy?

Thanks! Advice? Hmm my methods are scattered all around this thread. Just check them out. Only advice I could give is to always look and compare your work to plenty of reference pictures. So you'd know which one to adjust.

Anyway before I ship the suit I got hold of some spare time and had a photo shoot. The outcome is far better than what I have expected.
My wife had time to accompany me as well and dress up as pepper! How cool is that :cool

Re: Iron Man Mk42 Suit Pics page5 5/16 v3 otw!

I'm kinda new here, I used 65 lb cardstock instead of 110 lb, will that affect anything?? GREAT WORK BTW!!!

Thanks! Sorry but if you read the entire thread, I'm not using paper pep for this build.

Thanks! Actually the color on the suit's wrong. The helmet colors are the right ones.

kabayan! (just guessing)

What kind of paint and color (brand and paint color) did you use for your mk42?

Awesome work

Thanks! If you could read some previous posts I mentioned the paint is custom mixed by a local paint dealer here, I forgot the name/code for it though. :(

This is BEAUTIFUL MAN!:thumbsup

Thanks! :)

that helmet... wow

Thanks! Helmet credits should go to Biggeek as it was from him, and Tony Stark III as he painted it and put the magnets in it for me :)

This is the best mark 42 i've seen so far!
great job!

Thank you! Reading posts like these keep me motivated.

Here are some of the things I've been busy working on.

Check page 2 onwards I think it's there.

Nice build my friend...GM

Thank you!

I haven't posted much as I'm busy with the armor commissions I accepted, and more are coming. So I just want to thank you guys for appreciating my work. It means a lot.

The recent project I finished is for a member here, got it shipped the last week. Managed to take a video before it left. Helmet was supplied by the customer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o07UpOEVJjw

And as promised, my version 3 is still under construction. Plenty of surprises coming this time around. I found time to arrange them and upload them so here ya go. I used Helagak's new back file, jackie's chest file. Plenty of mods for them to be accurate. And I sincerely do not agree that you can't get accurate with foam builds. It's just a matter of patience and a pair of keen eyes. My reference were the pictures from the SDCC statue posted last year btw, as I found many discrepancies between the CGI Model/s and the Hero suit/Statue.

Before you view the pictures you can check the strength test of the new rubber material I am using lately. Very rigid even without fiberglass reinforcement. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ev_Xb5aNvkE&feature=youtu.be

And the thickness

17597_631118966899100_1686005317_n.jpg

I made a mold for the arc ring, but haven't had time to install it yet. The chest hole might look bigger than usual.

Now on the wearing situation, I think I'll copy the hero suit used for the movie, and how RDJ wore it.

So far that's it. I'll be making a new set of legs and arms. My boards and servos are ready to be installed but I'll seal and smoothen the upper torso parts first.
More surprises in store so stay tuned. And thanks for viewing!

Re: Iron Man Mk42 Updated 7/14

Nearly done with the upper parts. Onward to sealing in a couple of days [or weeks] once I'm done with commissions.
Here's how the suit's looking now.

998036_638318039512526_611098993_n.jpg

Decided to ultra thin it out. Hopefully I can still fit the servos in.
1016975_638318059512524_906373317_n.jpg

New arc. Electronics from therealstark and casing from projectearth. Modded it to an amplifier to generate a larger set of sounds.
1000723_638318032845860_684702626_n.jpg

Now after seeing neuer's take on the mk42 [3d model], I tried to replicate his idea on the hip pods and the butt covers, and it worked!

993351_638318166179180_957056756_n.jpg

So glad that it worked, I used it on the forearms as well. Gonna install the servos in the right arm soon. [Missile being worked on]

Well that's it for now. Hopefully I can update this thread sooner than the usual. Cheers!
