you know what's sad about this?

the die hards can't see what this is doing to the franchise. they are just sooo happy to have a new movie calling itself GB's..

yet, don't see that we've been talking more about sexism, and femenisism, and racism, and politicism, and other not so much fun ism's, from the moment this mess started almost two years ago now.

There's probably been about 25% ghostbuster talk. the rest is this serious crap we never gave two thoughts about before feig came along. ;o).

all thanks to this movie people like to keep on defending ;o).

I don't get it ;o)

As we like to say in my line of work: "The Bottom Line is... the Bottom Line."
The new GB reboot hasn't made the $$$ it needed to serve as a springboard for more films, toys, animated shows, etc. Looks like this one is a one off.

Surprisingly, it looks like Star Trek: Beyond is faring WORSE at the worldwide box office. :(

JJTrek made great money when it provided the Star Wars fix everyone was craving. But then SW itself returned, and suddenly JJTrek's services were no longer needed.

Unfortunately for Trekkies, I get the feeling that Paramount will run ST into the ground chasing SW. They should be lowering their financial expectations a couple notches and bringing ST back to its original form.

The Terminator franchise has been making the same mistake for 15 years. They keep failing at repeating T2's success instead of succeeding with more realistic expectations.

Not surprising at all...

i'd look at it as the nu audience paramount is trying to reach, apparently either star wars fans, or people who just like generic action movies, tire of that kind of stuff far faster than the old guard did of the original star trek universe when it was good.

which just goes to show, you can't throw away the old long time fans like they mean nothing. it'll come back to bite you.

No ST Beyond is at $234M vs. GB at $208M. On a positive toy related note, check out these amazing looking figures.

Actually, he's got a point. if you look at the foreign box office, Beyond has only made about $2m more than GB:

I think here they are using it more as a joke, saying that she likes to cause all the drama and attention herself to gain short term notoriety..

but yeah ;o).

there is also the popular conspiracy fan theory that her and feig are doing all this themselves.
 
Well...they need to make their money back somehow...but not a good way to make people trust you.

And I reiterate that Jones isn't funny,she's an obnoxious pig,about as funny as letting someone sock you in the plums.
