Rogue One Rebel Soldier Helmet

If you look at the guys top center left, they look to have bands that are flat:

Also, you can see two more guys with what looks to be a that same yellow symbol.

I bet it's most likely rank symbols. That would explain why there are different symbols on the helmets. Maybe private is the backwards four, commander is the yellow "P" bad so forth with the different symbols. Just a thought

I don;t think it's a rank emblem. Lt. Selfa has one of the yellow thingies, and so do some lower ranking types. I suspect it is a unit symbol or "flash." But given that the Rogue One team was a bit of a mish-mash, we have some different units represented. The yellow symbol also meshes with the yellow "flash" seen on the right shoulder of many of the soldiers.

Ahhh very nice catch. Hmm definintly made me think differently..

Symbol
I know there was some talk of it being a version of aurebesh. There is a video that notes the text that's on the buildings in Jedha is not a standard aurebesh text. This could be the same variation made for RO.

Still looking for anything thats even close to the actual back to front 4.

Bands
some look flat some look like they have a ridge on the backside that gives them that raised look.

Helmet silver bar thingy
there is a guy in the front of the pic that has one on his hemet. I opened up the design we used for the run and according to the measurements it should be 59mm so about 2.32283"
Hope that helps. that was a pretty good guess from a few posts ago.

Could you helmet specialists please answer me an addtl. question?...

I located a few accurate post WW2 M1 helmets, but am wondering about the sizing?!
Do all helmets - the steel "pot"- have the same size and fitting it to the soldier was done by either just an added helmet liner or these "inner-helmets" with liner? I am confused about some auctions writing about a size, while most do not...Have a big head myself and don´t want to spend any $ just to realise it is too small for me.

Thx guys.

The "pot" part are all the same size, the inner part is adjustable. If anything its the inner straps that are adjustable to a certain length, that maybe where the sizing is coming in. Its harder when you cant just go to the shop and see if it fits. but hit me up again if your having trouble or some one that knows more will chime in.

Someone on the Rebel Legion forum posted this picture taken by one of the Rogue One extras. Thought y'all might find it useful.

I noticed the cord going from the strap to side item (lamp?) in the Rogue One poster but I was not sure if it was some used in actual screen used helmets.

So what do you all think. Light installed in the side item and a cord running out to a switch?

That is going be too big.

I am playing around with using a clear bump-on and a jump ring as a faux camera lens. I picked up some 12mm jump rings and 12mm is too large to fit into the side of the oval holes. They need to be smaller, possibly 10mm.

U get to see a great picture of the flash bracket

And a much clearer picture of the glass eye! Thanks for sharing!!

Hey! I just noticed that this soldier is wearing two difference helmets.... One for the VD, and one for the film... Look at the insignia on the side:

Maybe a mag lite solitaire lens? Or similar size

The camera bracket looks like a bent bit of wire rather than a flat bracket.
