Bandai 1/144 Millennium Falcon GROUP build awakens! OPEN TO EVERYONE! :)

Re: Bandai 1/144 Millennium Falcon build awakens!

I decided before i go any further on the paint, i would finish the LED switch first..

I used the smallest switch i could find, i will most likely paint it the same colour as the main hull. Im pleased with how it looks,
its in a very discreet place and wont be noticed when the model is in situe.

Also the character figures are now done minus BB8.

I sorted the blockyness of the panzer tank at the back. I again used 0.5mm styrene rod.

And the boarding ramp and engine grilles.

Today i will finally start the airbrush jobs :)

Back soon...

Re: Bandai 1/144 Millennium Falcon build awakens!

The airbrush work is now done minus the varnish, then i can get on with the final washes.

I have now clipped the model together, the battery fits perfect with about 0.5mm gap to the cover, its held in by force alone. It can be removed/installed with little effort too :)

I started with 2 coats of semi gloss clear to seal in the decals. Once that dried i added all the water run marks, blaster and engine dirt. Im very happy with it, i think i stopped just before it would have started to be over the top.

Re: Bandai 1/144 Millennium Falcon build awakens!

I applied 3 coats of pledge klear acrylic varnish and some black wash, it should fade over night as these pics were taken an hour after the wash had been applied.

Next step will be a final coat or two of klear and some tamyia weather master for the final touch :)

Thanks for viewing.

More work DSC00467.JPGDSC00468.JPGDSC00470.JPGDSC00471.JPGDSC00472.JPGI clean out the sides so I can run fiber optics for the head light.

Re: Bandai 1/144 Millennium Falcon build awakens!

Its also worth remembering that some of the original details have broken off on that area.....(and all over the model),....you can see the black primer of the shapes that are missing

J

Good to know :thumbsup
