Panaflex's Props

Re: Panaflex's Props- Previously the Obi Fossil saber build.UPDATE:LUKE ESB

Well, it's been awhile since I've had the time to get busy in the shop but I decided to do an easy project and get my Park's Vader MPP V1 another upgrade session.
I picked up some of Roy's grips and his excellent aluminum shroud some time ago.

Shroud on, easy peasy. Sold the Parks shroud long ago.

The V1 came with rubbery grips on and they just never felt right. Seen here with Roy's replacements. Nice.

A little 3M tape.

Pulling the old grips was easy but left some glue behind which peeled off with a fingernail. Not too bad.

And here it is with the grips on. I may go back later and actually angle the grips so its more accurate. The 3M tape makes this mostly painless.
At this point, it still looks mostly like the original Parks but I really do like Roy's shroud, its a great piece. The saber just feels more legit in hand with the hard grips now.

Also still trying to decide on silver side bars or stay black. Is anyone selling the led version of the clamp card now?
Anyway, hope you liked a mini update. Much more to do in the shop as time allows.

nice work! I did this to a parks MPP too, but decided to go full ESB/ROTJ Hero on it.

I had an original card and bubble strip - I think slothfurnace modeled the exactra board too! I think he's away from the shop at the moment for personal stuff but he'll be back

Thanks!

Did Sloth do an exactra copy with the red LEDs or did I just dream that? I have some old boards but not that kind.

Ok, so there is a potential path to building that version. Here’s hoping Sloth comes through for us on that one.

Been a long time since I’ve been able to do much with the collection (tough 2018) but I thought I’d post pics of the operational amplifiers I just received. Thanks thd9791!

Funny thing with the Obi Saber at least in my experience: It seems like it’s never really done. The rabbit hole just gets deeper.

So grateful to the friends here who continue to share the knowledge they have.

Pretty cool you have them w/ the socket.
Thanks for sharing!

It'd be great if you allowed someone to make decals for the transistors we have
(this was done over a decade ago by someone here)

I'm sure SethS will contact you regarding putting this in his guidebook.

Can you tell us the dimensions of this so that we may compare them to the replicas we may have?

Beautiful! I am looking for the same exact thing! Where did you happen to find them?!

Thanks fellas.

I got these from Tom. He may still have more.

It would be an honor to have a photo in Seth's Guide.
Seth, if you see this, please feel free to use any of my photos.

I do remember that sticker run.
Here are some measurements of the op amps. I hope they can be useful. Please note, the width measurement is only side to side of the main body and does not include the flared base at the bottom.

Ha! Your the second one to tell me that today lol. And believe it or not I messaged him first asking where to find some lol

So after a brutal 2020 I’ve been able to very slowly start some new projects. 1st up is going to be an E-11 and this is the 1st piece of the puzzle.

Courtesy of Mr. Yee, a nice, classic 1942 M38 azimuth scope. Saving up for a sterling...
