I need to weather my gaiters a bit but here is my War Doctor and my friend Laurel who nailed it as Bad Wolf Girl/The Moment

Leather jacket was a $49 ebay find and brand new still in the plastic bag. It was a shame to take sandpaper to it to distress but totally worth it in the end.
The gaiters were custom made by my buddy Stephen at Lone Wolf Armory. I
did the bandolier and my wife made the vest.
Scarf is from Magnoli Clothiers.
Grey hair from too many years in I.T. Security dealing with end users.

So, about a week ago, or so, I was able visit the Doctor Who museum in Cardiff and get a lot of up close, detailed photos. I was also able to confirm, 100% that the gaiters are in fact made of leather, so looks like I was wrong about that. Also, as you can see from the picture, the boots are Hi-Tecs.

I don't know why the photos are all sideways or upside down, but given what a pain in the ass it was to upload them in the first place, I'm not going back and trying to fix them.

My pleasure. I was actually surprised how close you able to get to the costumes. I could have reached out and touched anything, but chose not to.

Last time I went, I brought some Capaldi buttons with me to make sure I had bought the right sizes. I held one up to the coat next to an attached button, and accidentally dropped my button when I saw the security guy eyeing me. He thought I ripped it off and was really PO'ed. Took a minute to explain.

Those are the most incredible and detailed snaps I've seen to-date, Zeppo. Thank you so much for these!!

Judging by your avatar, I suspect you'll be interested in the Night of the Doctor pics I took as well ;) I'll be posting those in the 8th Doctor thread soon.
I think I'm on that thread, but if not, please feel free to fold me into it! Thanks again and I look forward to seeing the pix!

This thread is fantastic!! I just started putting together the pieces for my War Doctor costume and have sourced most of the big pieces i.e coat, pants, bandolier belt, and have a local seamstress making me a vest(after lucking out with finding very close material). The gaiters/spats will be another project. I'm crying inside because I have to strip the finish off of an amazing chocolate brown US heavy leather pea coat. Luckily it has not makers tag inside and the price was right. I'm absorbing as much information as I can. I'll post more pics as my process of the coat goes and my bandolier build. IMG_4948.JPG
Wondering about the crooked picture but it won't load any other way. PS, the vest and scarf are only temporary.

You look great! I'm building this costume for a family member, question: Are those the spats off Amazon? They're such a great price I was thinking of getting them, dying them and switching out the buttons. Were you happy with how they held up?
Those are the cheap halloween spats you can find on amazon. The snap/button looking things are just decoration. There is a full strip of velcro up each side and the material is basically felt. Not the greatest quality and I've got my good ones done out of leather now with buttons that are proper. I only used the cheap ones one night. They worked but are far from proper.
