Nice job guys!!!

A chap just asked me for some 3D upgrades for this 1/29 X-Wing... I've just released the nozzles.
I will try to design the droid strip also.

I think the biggest "tell" (or inaccuracy) is the thickness of the intakes. Not sure if that can be correct though as I think the parts are molded into the wings.

Here is a VERY rough look at where the Bandai 1:48 would fit in...

PHArchist, the image is a little confusing. Might you add some labels, or simply number them and then list what they are? It sure would help me sort things out better...

Excellent! Thanks Tony! The nozzles as they come in the kit are not well designed for lighting, so this is definitely a good first upgrade for it!
PHArchivist: You are welcome sir! And I'm glad you liked the video! :)

For what it's worth, the Revell X-Wing right before the Bandai 1/48 X-Wing is 1/57 scale I believe

The Revell pocket one is 1/112

Got the kit today - big box. New box art for TFA. Disappointed that the base color is grey not white. Was going to just weather the stock paint job but now will need to start fresh.

is the german version and this one the same?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/191737590336

The one listed there says its product ID 06656

According to the Revell of Germany site, the one with the Product ID 06656 is the mid range 1/57 kit
http://www.revell.de/en/products/star-wars/star-wars-episode-iv-vi/id/06656.html

The US release of that same kit is product ID 85-1876
http://www.revell.com/model-kits/entertainment/85-1876.html#.VoNAiPkrLIU

$45 for that kit is a bit much considering you can walk into any Michael's or Hobby Lobby and find it cheaper right off the bat before even using any 40% or 50% off coupons

The larger 1/29 one is product ID 06690 http://www.revell.de/en/products/star-wars/star-wars-episode-iv-vi/id/06690.html

The US release of that 1/29 one is number 85-1894 http://www.revell.com/model-kits/entertainment/85-1894.html#.VoM_TvkrLIU

The only differences between the Revell of Germany and the Revell US releases are the packaging

Revell of Germany for the most part has been the ones making the kits. They also seem to have more currently in production compared to Revell US. Revell US seems like they kind of cherry pick a few kits to release here. I guess they wait and see how things sell in Europe?

Here is the currently available Revell US releases
http://www.revell.com/model-kits/entertainment/index.html

Here are the Revell of Germany releases ( a much better looking and more organized web page than the US one as well as having more stuff)
They also list scales for a number of the releases which the US page does not (but then again, some of the scales are off, at least compared to the figures in them. This is mainly on the Tie fighters The x-wings are pretty spot on as well as many of the others

Thanks. PAss along any coupons you have for 50% off lol. I think 100 bucks for this snap tight is a littl emuch too but I have no idea what the current model pricing is like. Have been out of the scene for 20 years.

I thought it was from Hobby Lobby, but maybe not (or at least not yet)

I was there today. I didn't notice. I do remember seeing the 1/557 X-wing as long as both the sound and play and level 2 kits for all the Force awakens stuff plus some older stuff like the Darth Vader tie and some other things, but I couldn't recall seeing it now that you mention

I just managed to squeeze this one in to 2015. I bought it on Tuesday and finished it lasy night. All i changed was the engine halves. I added a couple of extra colour panels , repainted the pilot and did the weathering all over. This was just an experiment really. I new that even though the revell kit had soft and a couple of inaccurate areas , with a good paintjob it would work out. I had alot of fun just building and weathering it.

Just noticed i left the rear of the cannons off D'oh!

Just thought I'd throw mine into the mix.
Not quite finished, but makes a nice build. Does need a total repaint, tho. And fill in the bodies of the cannons, please

anyone making bits for this kit? I saw some engine covers on 308. I am looking to do my first fiber op job on this. Any pointers?

BTW, PHA, thanks for the legend for the comparison pix. Interesting how variable the proportions are amongst the various models (just look at those 'droid pit' sizes!)

Cheers!
Robert
