Twas the wee hours of christmas and all through the forum,
not a creature was stirring, not even gollum
Most members were sleeping all toasty and warm
dreaming of props to unwrap christmas morn
But those who have children were up having "fun"
the assembling and wrapping was finally done
As tempretures dropped to 18 below
I sat feeding my woodstove by my monitors glow
A prop for my brother I was painting with pride
a new kindle case, as a Hitchhiker's Guide
When from the front palor there came a bright light
what I saw made me think that my mind wasn't right!
A jolly faced fellow was crouched by the hearth
a well padded man but not too much girth
His cap was dark red with orange at the end
in fact you could say it was sort of a blend
He wore something black strapped close to his back
humming and shiny, a real proton pack
"Santa" I said, "how did you get in?"
"My new transporter" he said with a grin
"No more ashes and soot all over the sleigh"
"no more cleaning my suit at the end of the day"
"I no longer worry about making time
"Flux capacitor keeps my schedule in line"
"The folks at the Air force were giving me grief
"but a Klingon cloaker offered relief"
"I used to be old-school but hey, what the heck!"
"It's the 21st century and I'm loving this tech"
He delved into his sack to the shoulders somehow,
"I'm using flat-space technology now"
As he filled all the stockings and turned with a jerk
tapping his chest a communicator chirped
"One to beam up," he said with a smile
"but wait for my signal, this could take a while"
"don't worry" I said, "I won't tell a soul"
"I'll keep your secret while you're at the North Pole"
He slid off the top of a slim silver wand
reaching into his pocket, some Raybans he donned
"Merry Christmas!" he laughed "look right here" as if playing
then FLASH!...now wait..what was I saying?

Glad you like it brother!
I opened mine tonight, and it is definitely the most unique gift I have ever received, just because of that I think it is awesome! The only problem is that it's a "custom" iPod dock, and I don't own an iPod :facepalm ....at least not yet

My secret santa (Fuzzual) described it as "What Malcolm Reynolds would have in Serenity if he owned an iPod", and even without an iPod I think it's cool just because it looks like a control panel from Serenity! Not to mention it has an 80gb hard drive inside of it (which according to my SS will come up as "Serenity" when plugged into my computer), and if I am right I can still use the HD without an iPod.
I've never really been a fan of Apple products, which is why I don't own and iPod (nor have I ever owned one). However after receiving this I think I will have to buy an older iPod Touch or something, just so that I can use it.

I finally opened my secret Santa gift.
My SS provided a hint. He said it would be practical. This totally confused me.
I had no idea what was in here.
Curious. I was uncertain how one would get curious from a picture of Glenn. Boy was I wrong.
Now I've got an awesome prop that I can throw in my bug out bag or combine with the picture and make my first ever prop display.

Okay, I think that Steveo was my Secret Santa. I couldn't get back to the box cuz the hubby was hiding one of my gifts in my office/the second bedroom so it was off limits for a bit. But I was finally able to get the name and location tonight to go back and try to match it up.
I'm still in awe of the package as a whole and have been showing the pic I took of the painting to anyone who might care, and also to those that wouldn't. They've all been equally impressed by it. heh

Ok so because of the holidays heading out to the post office to check my box was impossible these past two days, but today I finally managed to get out there!
And my secret Santa really did an awesome job!!! I should've taken a picture of my excited face but who has time for that?! Lol thank you soo much Santa this is gonna fit right in my growing collection!! I'm also very curious on how you made it??!

I just received my gift, it's AWESOME, I LOVE IT! I didn't really think I would get this xD
There was no name on the package, but after a little deduction, I'm almost 100% sure my Santa is Volpin , so HUGE thanks to you good sir! You definitely made the child in me squeel :lol

I sort of don't understand all the effort people put into sussing out who their Secret Santa was ... I mean, the whole point of the exchange, I think, is that you don't know! I happen to know who mine is only because he has a website where he sells the item he sent so it's pretty obvious but were that not the case, I don't think I would have hunted him down; to me, it's just more fun NOT knowing.

Well, once my SS posted the other day that it's heading overseas, I was thinking, 'I wonder if it's mine', and just looking at the location on his profile and on the package, it matches. So it didn't exactly take much effort - either way, I guess some people just want to know who to send their thanks directly to!
