Show your custom Lightsabers!

Hey @SethS , did that Peak Flash (your post # 1524) have the toggle switch with the ball knob on it sticking out of the flash tube or was that something that you added to it? If you added it... how'd ya get it in there?

It was part of the flash!

... This is what's left behind after you remove the ginormous plastic cover for the button. It looks pretty cool; but I'm not sure yet how I'm going to incorporate it into the build...

Yep, that was the same problem I faced with my Busch-build. It's interesting, no doubt, but figuring what to do with it and making it look good was...tricky. I wound up just scrapping it and went with the plastic cover instead.

I still don't understand the purpose of this piece, even after taking it apart. I ended up cutting mine down as decoration and to hold the internals in place.

Did you shave down the cover at all or doing anything to it? It's massive and just throws the look of it off...

New one!

So I acquired this awesome Presslite flash from teecrooz and it immediately jumped to the head of the build line-- mainly because it was so perfect. Like the Graflex or Canon it just looks like a perfect saber.

All I did was remove the top bulb socket, flip it vertically to match the body, and tightened the clamp. Since they were the same diameter it worked perfectly.

Cosmetically, I replaced the clamp knob, removed the logo plate, replaced a giant brass screw with a more lightsaber-y thumbscrew, added a clamp card, and applied grips.

That looks so good, SethS! I think the circuit board is a bit too busy to be naked for my tastes (but I'm a bigger fan of the bubblestrip anyway) but overall that flash just works!

I think it's a real good START for a custom saber hilt. To me, it doesn't look like you're done, yet.

I'd make a shroud of some sort, to liven up the emitter area, and I'd also play with different paint schemes, as far as the black and bare metal go.

I feel like the entire clamp should be black, for one. And I'd try blackening the rest of the pin socket areas, and see how that looked.

I really like it, but it just doesn't look finished, it still just looks like a flashgun, with some t track thrown on.
