Resin casting Vacumform bucks...what materials to use?

We're going to be producing some large-size vacumform bucks for some costume armor components via silicone molds. It's been awhile, but know people would use an alginate for this process. I'd figure to use resin, but that likely would result in shrinkage simply due to the quantity? I was curious to know what others use for something similar. These would be chest armor/shoulder armor components...

Fiberglass them about 4-5 layers and then fill them with rigid foam or slush cast them so they are about1/2 inch thick which will be multiple layers and fill with rigid foam.

When you say rigid foam, are you referring to something along the lines of expanding foam?

I'd probably use epoxy fiberglass resin..
