Starting my 1:1 Voldemort from Harry Potter. HamedlFx is doing a bang up job on the paint. Waiting for my Ralph Fiennes laser scanned eyes to be shipped from Tech Optics. Btw, if anyone know where to get a Museum Replicas Voldemort robe from I would be much appreciative! Seem to be sold out everywhere

Re: Voldemort life size build

When I get around to building mine I have decided to go with Voldemort's wand. You could make it interchangeable though. How are you doing the hands?

I was thinking of just painting mannequin hands. The way he grips his wand is very strange. Kinda claw like so I think just adding nails to mannequin hands and painting them will work ok

I made myself a lifesize Palpatine and used a rubber hand that you can but from Horror shops. They are usually the cut off hands for Halloween. They are cast off a real hand and have fantastic detail and look realistic and you can buy them relatively cheap too. They are hollow but what I did was to get some really strong armature wire and feed them through all the fingers and left them long so that they come out at the opening of the stump. Then I filled all the fingers and knuckle parts with silicone (just the one you get from your hardware shop) and let that set. Then I used resin to fill in the rest of the arm. They look fantastic and are extremely poseable. I will try and find a pic of Palpy in a sec.

IMG_3861.JPGHere he is. Sorry for the washed out picture but it's hard to get a good picture of the pale hand against the dark robe but you get the idea. Fully poseable hands and cheap to make too. Hope this helps.

I actually got their Ledger eyes in my joker statue. They are super realistic. If you opt for the Heath Ledger laser scanned ones (and I recommend you do) they run $128 shipped for the pair

Here ya go, found a good pic of the eyes before I applied the hair

Re: Voldemort life size build

Little bit of an update. I have the wand now, hand carved wood from Alivans. Really nice and practically weightless which works great for a mannequin to hold. Also have the mannequin ordered and robes being custom made. Slowly getting there
