New Star Trek TOS Phaser coming November 2014

Holy smokes phaser's galore...I wonder If enough of these will get taken apart. that we will see part's on the market?

If you search right ebay has the metal parts already.

The seller of the black and white wand phaser has opened another account on ebay selling the metal parts,,, this person(both ebay accounts) was banned from here a while ago for never delivering junkward/interest thread sales

I refuse to buy from that seller. he has other things that I very much want to purchase. but I would like to think I have a moral code that I live buy. and I do. so I wont buy from someone that can treat people that way .

I wish more people felt that way. :)

Yes, but I figure I can afford one every other month..I might sell off some of the phaser 2 bodies to offset the cost also.

I received my replacement phaser from ST.com right before Christmas and it is flawless. No issues with the electronics or the finish, so I'm pleased. I'm supposed to get the replacement one from ThinkGeek tomorrow, so we'll see what condition that one is in. After getting two defective ones from two separate companies, I'm hoping I get lucky and now get two that are fine.

I showed the phaser to my Mom over Christmas and of course she said "And how much did THAT cost?", knowing I've dropped some serious coin before on replicas. While she's not in to sci fi stuff like this, she did say that it looked "really well made." :lol

I LOVE that idea! I wish I had the time to do it, because it's very clever and a pretty straightforward job, but I'm up to my assballs in phaser right now, and after that I'm scratch building an Eagle, plus my volunteer work and such, so there's no more me to go around (and considering my, um, size... that's a helluva thing). :p

Ooooh, scratch S1999 Eagle, would love to build me one of those. Good luck with that, no way I could do a scratch one but I need to get me one of those resin kits of the 22". I also need to pick up the Stun Gun kit real soon from Jim Small (?).

Just had a conference with our resident machinist guru, and those bells are going to be vastly easier to tool for than I thought.

But let's not highjack the thread! Back to phasers, with apologies...

I'm going to send 1 of mine back to ST.com. The crooked Muzzle ring and Emitter was starting to bother me. Good thing my 2nd one is close to flawless.
Anyone have issues with the email address on the back of the ST.com order form? starttrekshop@custhelp.com. I had to go through their site to get at it.

Been working on upgrades to my phaser. I need to make a few adjustments (like cut the crsipy a little bigger, bit all in all I am very happy with the way it turned out.

I made the following mods.

1. Polished metal
2. Added screw to bottom of P2 body.
3. Replaced handle with more accurate after market version (painted with Duplicolor Shadow Grey)
4. Added simulated brass nut to screw head (I cut a brass washer in half and glued to screw head.
5. Replaced ten turn
6. Painted phaser 1 with Zynolyte primer and buffed to get proper finish
7. Replaced the meter window. Added correct TMOST paper printed readout under meter.
8. Added new crispy.
9. Added watch crown.

Wow, that looks gorgeous! The P1 dial looks a hair larger, so that's not the Wand Scale readout? You've really captured the look there, that's really amazing. :)

Wow, great work on your Phaser Lost ! Question, what is the crispy. Not up to date on my Phaser jargon.

I got my Phaser from TG today, no issues with it. Brand new and not someones return. Powering it up now and will play with it tonight. :D

Also, i've been wanting to upgrade my AA/DST Phaser with metal parts. There is a web site selling metal parts, I wont post the url but if you google phaser metal parts it should be in the listing. Would you recommend or stay away from this site ?

EDIT: Well it's all powered up but the effects don't seem to be working right. I only get one sound off it. I'm at work right now so when I get home i'll have more time to figure it out but I think something is definitely wrong with it. :(

Crispy refers to the pseudo perforated metal sheet that is the p1 assporator grill. The piece is on top of the site hood and is the bulk of metal on the p1. The thumb wheel and side rails make up less percentage of the metal. Hope this helps.
