Dann's Luke Macrobinoculars update

I searched the forums and couldn't find my original Macrobinocular thread, so I reckon I'll start a new one.

Been doing a few upgrades to my Macros over the past weeks.

In my previous thread, I hadn't added the little knobs and screws to the resin lens, didn't have the triangle box with the Eumig knob, or the tiny screws on the Kalimar knobs. Also replaced the Minox flash with a resin mystery box, and added a couple details there. Also upgraded the big Seagull knob, I've got both Bell and Howell knobs now, so I can swap between red and grey if'n I want to.

This is also a completely new Servomatic.

I'll never be totally satisfied with my transition box. It needs the open bottom and the curve!

I'm still in need of another real Kaligar lens (and the resin one could really use a repaint!), so I'd really appreciate it if someone could help me out there!

Thanks everybody for looking!

Thanks!

I've also thrown together some custom Macros, all they're missing is the EL setup. I kinda like these lenses more than the Kaligars.

Also, I turned the little "Seagull" knob shafts on my little lathe, drilled them and threaded 1/4-20. The tops are battery covers from a Miranda.

The mounting plate for the big knob and the greeblies on top of the transition box are from a hard drive I gutted,

For the life of me, I can't remember where I got the little EL kit that I used for the Luke version.

Anyone got any ideas?

Those custom macros you've built fit right in w/ the look of all the other OT props.
Well done. :thumbsup

Can anyone tell me if the resin Kalimar knobs on my macrobinoculars are correct?
This was made in 2004, IIRC.

Mine have a shorter post than the ones I've seen on other replicas.

Any help would be appreciated.

Those were just cast in the "down" position. You can pull up and turn the real ones to lock them in the up position.

So yeah, yours are correct. Someone should cast some more, and offer both up and down versions!

I appreciate the clarification.

Photos seem to show the knobs behind the Seagull knob in the extended position.

Well, now those knobs are from the Seagull, from what I understand. They're taller than the down positioned Kalimar knobs.

You generally can't get the Seagull knobs to say in the up position.

So, if anyone ends up with a lens in the near future, please consider selling or trading it to me!

I've got two nice resin lenses, a Eumig, two Kalimar knobs and a viewfinder to trade. That's almost all the parts, right there!
:D

I have 4, but the black one will stay on the black 660 (on display in it´s original state, as it looks like new right of the shelf) - so i still need one myself.

But if i find 2, i will let you know. ;)
