Hey guys I came across an episode of an old pawn shop tv show and some guy was selling his Hammond cane used in jurassic park. The guy sold it for 30 grand. I looked up the episode and took some screenshots from my phone. Check out the cool detail seems pretty real to me.

I think I recall this was given out to the production crew rather than screen used. I could be wrong though

I know Chronicle have a replica nearly complete supposedly screen cast.

Last crew cane I saw went for approximately $1000 on Ebay.

This appears to be a hero cane

I love your jp videos dude and your goggles are insane.
Thank you - I bought a pair of your Nike Mag upgrades back when they were MarkPoon's V1s and it was really amazing work. Sound effects and everything. Theres a video on them on the channel.

Yes I remember david :) When I saw your video of my mags it put a smile on my face thanks for a great review. I had fun doing them.

Didn't say that. I have no idea.
But, based on all the other fabricated stories on this show, I would not trust a word they say.

Yeah it’s pretty annoying that most pawn shop shows are seemingly fabricated, but who really does know for sure about the cane. Speaking of Jurassic Park canes, David thanks to your review a couple of years ago I bought one of Gavin Robinson’s amber canes. Always love your videos.

Thanks,

Matthew.

This is why I stopped watching 'Pawn Stars' because I realized how much of it was fabricated/things not adding up with people's stories on the show, etc.

Yeah defineatly pawn stars, the only reason I even used to watch that show was when they got cool screen used props, and then kind of talked about them. Even some of those props I think were fake though.

This specific show was called Beverly hills pawn, it only aired for a few seasons.

This looks like every wrap cane I've ever seen or handled. I've seen them as low as 300.00 and as high as 5000.00 depending on the story, like who's cousin's-uncle's-sister worked on the set and blah' blah' blah...not saying that's the case here, just saying I struggle with how anyone could truly authenticate it.

Hell, ya never know, but personally I'd need bullet proof documentation.

Of course all wrap canes were rumored to have been pulled from the original mold so there's really no way to differentiate between an original and a wrap unless one had an insanely stiff, verifiable pedigree. I'm talking like director documentation. Since we'll likely never see that, I'd say a wrap is as close as one can get. They all look the same, clearly the same amber top sculpt and cane body as we see in the film.

NOTE/Edit: I can't quite see the bug in the one up top as much as I'd like. Not that it really means anything, but the wrap canes I've seen all looked the same. Also, Richard Attenborough's cane was auctioned by his estate in 2015 claiming to be THE original cane he used in the film. I think we could all safely surmise there was more than one fragile cane made for the film.
