Blade Runner 2049, old and new blasters!

From the pics I keep finding on the internet, either from the Pro and the newer 2049 version, it seems like the grips are too dark. Has this been discussed before? is that an issue or they look more accurate in person? Also, I'm ok with the matte black finish (for now), but I'd like to know if it's possible to take it off and blue the metal parts later on. Thanks!

It is possible to remove the matte black finish. See this thread: http://www.therpf.com/showthread.php?t=270476&highlight=heavily+modified+tomenosuke

Not sure if you could get it clean enough to re-blue, but the point is that whatever they "paint" it with is definitely removable to some extent.

I just finished reading the whole thread. Definitely great tips there. Thanks, BadAtNames. Apparently the handle covers' color WAS an issue on the past versions (sorry I'm late to the party). The press release states that the issue was addressed and that the 2049 version will have the correct color.

I was unsure about the matte finish myself, and I don't have the time and skills to strip and re-blue the receiver, so I tried adding few drops of silicone oil to the surface and it darkened it down nicely and added more of a sheen. Pics here: http://www.therpf.com/showthread.php?t=269242

Nice! Thanks for the heads up. I might end up doing just that. I don't care for the rusty, beat up version of the actual prop some people is going for. I rather have it as it must've looked in its glory days.

New trailer. new gun for the ladies.

I Pre ordered the water pistol from Amazon.jp yesterday. You have the option at the top of the page to change the language , which helped massively . Cost of the water pistol = £9. Cost of shipping to the UK - £26! Ouch!

Got my email this morning to complete payment for the Blaster. No word in the email about being ready to ship but everyone keep an eye out.
