M19 telescope mhr 1942 build

I used these pics as reference when designing my HOTH mount. Found them in the HOTH thread I believe but can't remember specifically.

That looks really nice! Great job!

In the reference pics you posted it almost looks like the spacer comes very very close to the edge of the mount itself. Almost looks like it actually reaches that edge.

It also looks like the big black knob was still intact for these shots.

have we looked at camera knobs like the ones all over lukes macrobinoculars? kurtyboy ?

We discussed this knob a little in the other thread. The greeblie thread. It's at least (or very close to) the diameter of the Thorens Disc, and was likely glued right on top of it.

The theory is that it fell off during or after filming. Could have come from one of the turntables, I haven't seen anything on any donor cameras that's a match. Although look at the reference we've got to go on. Pretty blurry stuff.
