Put this together over a 48 hour window, so not many progress photos. Was a big hit at Dallas Fan Days. The costume itself wasn't too difficult, but the guitar... ouch. I'm going to redo the guitar, though, for more accuracy.

Be great to make a functioning guitar and ealk around with a little belt clip/pocket amp jamming those riffs from the movie. You really nailed not only the look but the posturing and body language too.

@CityofTanis - Was just a good quality latex skull mask. The trick is to get it the right color. Look up "PAX for latex".

@harrisonp - Thanks! Yes, Doof is definitely a "physical" character. I can't play guitar so it would be lost on me anyway, but the next upgrade is going to be a speaker on the guitar so that I can have music play.

@Darkturbo04 - Yep, a bed pan. The guitar from the movie is built off of one too. It's just more busy then mine so it's harder to tell. I'm working on making my guitar more movie accurate. It was a rush job.

DUDSHOT - Hmmm... can you give me some more reference? If you're talking about the tops of the necks and the two little meters on the bottom of the guitar, I 3D modeled both of those and printed them. They're really rough up close because I didn't have time to do finishing work on them, but no one got really close to take a look at them anyway. :)

cool, you're in Taxas, throw all that in the back of the truck and drive it around for a few days to get some patina and smells. cool costume, maybe a cheesy LED torch at the end for the fire?

add a mini blue tooth speaker, then stream the soundtrack from your phone and your set. I still say you roll around in the dirt a few days.

This is so wonderful! I'm making a costume for my boyfriend and would love to know more about what materials you used for the mask, the hair looks great!
