Interesting bag mounting bracket. The movie bikes replaced the vertical fender stay with a thicker strip of steel. I did the same on mine, but out of aluminum. The plywood backing is bolted to the strip. It's very sturdy. Your solution is nice as well.

I'll help you find one if you help me find one, I thought the saddle bags were the tough part(s) of the build, and if you find a Schwinn mirror with the clear reflector, be prepared to empty your bank account, they're out there, you just have to be patient.

That mirror drove me nuts. For years I ran with 2 small ones instead.

Those mirrors are tough to get. I'm sending one to the chrome plater this weekend.

If anyone can find one I will definitely pay for it. I can't believe I can find everything else for the bike but one mirror. truly amazes me it is the one thing I wouldn't think would've been a problem.

Two of those 4 inch mirrors just sold on ebay for close to $400 each. Good luck! I was lucky to find mine for $60.

There ya go, it would be good for a Halloween gag bike, if you tweaked it up a little bit, it's as good or better than some of the bikes those Pee-wee impersonators are riding around
