SNG studios Daily video

Steve, thank you so much for the show! Whenever I watch it I get fresh force to tackle the problems on my builds. It is really inspiring!

Still there is a bit to do but nothing involved. Paint the eye lids. Add some steam stacks on the back pack.
Got back to working on the big E for the museum of science fiction we are at a point where I'll need that internal armature. Lots more info in the SNG weekly video which will be available in the morning. Here's a few pictures for now.

Selfie is uploading but here is some picture that really don't do this puppet justice in the mean time. He has his gun now so look out. Next up is to do some tests later this week and see how much of a green screen nightmare this is going to be.
And yes the lovely "Earth Vs the Flying Saucers"( I know you see it in the background ) mold from Raul Quiles Jr. is talked about briefly and a full show of the model in this weeks weekly show.

Thank you Steve for the great behind-the-scene stories about Leonard Nimoy. Always interesting vids and looking forward to more in the future!:cool

Steve, as for memories, you mention stories from time to time, sometimes as Q/A. Maybe, in spare time you'll do a seperate clip for every movie you've done. No music, no nothing some one will complain about. Something that will stay on your chanel for good.
Maybe with some friend, or old mentor from the bis.
I think you should. It'd be cool to hear that again. Or for the first time for some!

Glad you checked in this week, was starting to worry about the "radio silence". The movie looks like it's really coming along -as always, great video.

The reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated.
Got more ears made today. Made some more wearable Nimoy ears. Made up a Marty the Martian head for a gentleman named Charles Babbage who was kind enough to offer to scan it and turn it into a accurate 3D wire frame. He is art director for the studio linked hear:http://www.michaelcurrydesign.com/ Thanks Charles so much for doing this and taking an interest in our film!
Then I drew a bunch of story boards for our film, flagged off that skylight and I think we are now ready to star shooting the end of our movie.
But Mary decided it was time for me to start a modeling project on the side. Hmmm...she picked it and here it is. Yes Kip Hart I am finally building the big Bad Azz Battlestar! Man this is one fantastic kit as it melts together. Everything is so well thought out.
More tomorrow. Yes I'm going to light everything!

Thanks so much for the kind words!

This test is better still. I lighted blocked everything but the Galactica lettering and back lite it with strip lighting. Next I'm going to gradiant the back of the armour so that the top of the letters have more lighting than the lower half.
I'm going to increase the brightness of the fiber optics with a brighter LED but this is definitely on the way.
Got a Kirk puppet fully cast up. All parts except the vacuum formed helmet face bubble.
Cochran is ready to paint and next up is another Cochran and a bronzed Spock bust.
Friday is another shoot day for our movie, "Martians Attack SNG". I be very busy after that doing all ex effects for the end of the movie. Space ships, ray guns, aliens, dogs and cats living together, total Armageddon . ;)
Great day and as always, more tomorrow.

The lighting on the Galactica looks fantastic. So glad Mary encouraged you to get started on it, I remember your enthusiasm for it when you first received it.

Have you figured out where you'll display it once it's complete? (your display room is looking pretty full ;))

Thanks so much. display room. I'll make room.

I had to cut out the ceiling under the armor plating with the name " Galactica" to accommodate the wiring and strip lighting. Replaced the LED that lights the name with a brighter one. Tomorrow I'll close this bay up and start on the other. Lots of light leaks and light blocking to do but the hard part is done.
Also checked out my WW1 R Class submarine to make sure everything is functioning correctly before the regatta next month. The Nautilus is next.
All the Spock ears and shadow boxes were packed today and will be shipped tomorrow. It was a busy day.

Got the landing bay closed temporarily. Re did the landing strip and lights. this time i printed them off on plain paper and used aluminium tape to back it to block light, then punch holes with a pin over cardboard.
Just with clamps on the top and bottom fits so clean and there's no light leaking between the seams.
Next light block it, paint it and close. Most of the day was spent cutting this weeks "SNG Weekly". Tomorrow we shoot the end of our movie. Green screen and lots of of it. Which means next week I'll be editing, composites and VFX.

Hi Steve, love your videos, I usually post over at hobbytalk but I'm thinking of moving over here since hobbytalk is broken..... I hope it's not too late, I have a small board, it's about 1.5" x 1.75", I designed it for my Cylon Centurion (Larson effect) but it's easly modified to a chaser effect (16 LEDs),
you're welcome to one if you'd like, let me know...
