So, I was digging through some old boxes the other day and came across a couple of the old Gillette Sensors for ladies. I'd even already prepped a few of them!

I threw some greeblies on one real quick, just for fun...

Is there any interest in something like this, anymore? Obviously this one could still use some work, but, if I were to list it in the junkyard, when it's finished, would anyone actually want to buy it?

If I could scrounge up a few bucks I might be interested. Good to see someone has a hold of some still. I still have the toy ones released in '99.

Well, I mean if I couldn't get at least $50-$75 plus shipping for one of these, it wouldn't be worth it to me.

Re: Jedi Comlinks - Does anybody even care about there's anymore?

I still have one that never was finished. I think for a while after TPM came out a few of the exact parts weren't identified so I put a pause on it. People knew what some parts were, but not the right part numbers when I started it. I'm still going to finish it someday...

Re: Jedi Comlinks - Does anybody even care about there's anymore?

I remember those days, believe me. I've still got one of the Visual Dictionary Qui-Gon versions that Boba Debt made waaaaay back when.

I'm not sure that we ever found the correct parts for Qui-Gon's screen used version, though. They changed a few things from the VD version.

Shoot, I'd even sell that, if I had a buyer. But I can make several customs if anyone's interested.

I don't think I have any of the correct parts to do an accurate replica, but I've got a ton of similar greeblies...

Re: Jedi Comlinks - Does anybody even care about there's anymore?

very cool! there was a marathon on last weekend and watched 1-5 then had to leave. i kept on looks at the com link to see if i could find anything else that was on it. i cant really get a good screen shot. i was curious if they were still around. 50 isn't a bad price for a unassembled kit. i cant afford it now but after the holiday id be interested

any good pics of the screen used one?

Re: Jedi Comlinks - Does anybody even care about there's anymore?

Here's some photos of the old Boba Debt version (from the Visual Dictionary, and I cannot find my copy of that book), and a couple customs I'd been working on over the years.

He included the solder lugs in their bare brass, and I decided not to paint them, I liked the brass look... I remember he used those little triangular beads for making kiddie jewelry, and sanded them flat, for the little knobs! Remarkable!

dan really nice work man!! they came out awesome!

Re: Jedi Comlinks - Does anybody even care about there's anymore?

Oh thanks! Well, Boba Debt did most the work on his, but the other two were all me. One I did years and years ago (on the right), the left one is the one I kinda just threw together the other day. May change some of the parts on both the custom versions.

Re: Jedi Comlinks - Does anybody even care about there's anymore?

Here's some more photos of the old Boba Debt Visual Dictionary version, which I reckon I'll be listing in the junkyard soon.

OOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!
Dann , What is that sort of celtic cross piece on the one on the right? The metal piece that looks like a convex washer with a hole in it and four notches in its edge?

I have one of these that I found in my grandfather's garage ages ago, he passed on before I had an opportunity to ask him what it was... or if he needed it. :(

dan no one knows what the greeblies were used on the qui gon communicator? it looks a little different up top from the visual dictionary one. its times like this i knew how to 3d model and print... i'd love to have something like qui gon used

Re: Jedi Comlinks - Does anybody even care about there's anymore?

It's been so long, I don't recall where that washer came from, and I can't recall whether any of the screen used Qui-Gon's comlink parts were ever identified!

aahhhh i wonder if those radio active symbols are found parts as well or if those was scratch built

Re: Jedi Comlinks - Does anybody even care about there's anymore?

I think the closest thing Boba Debt found were the little clear colored plastic jewels from the hobby store, and just sanded them flat.

I'd say they were most likely a found part on the real prop, as well.

Re: Jedi Comlinks - Does anybody even care about there's anymore?

You should give it a try. It's never too late to learn something new.

i need a better computer first. i figure once im done collecting my r2 parts, i will purchase a new laptop. this way i can tweak the electronics for him, and then start trying to play with 3d printing. the rumor is this year 2017 a night course is coming to my local vocational school so im going to try and get into that class. fingers crossed.

if i knew any 3d skills, i'd be drawing this sucker as we speak lol
