Definitive Harley Quinn suicide squad thread

Those are nice and I wouldn't mind getting them, but for the price it's not as screen accurate as I would like. I'll keep looking. I've already bought a few extra things. I got a better pair of the shorts which I think is pretty accurate. I haven't been able to find a pretty accurate glove, or belt though, or even just the buckle and I can modify mine if Anyone has a link to one

Shoes:

LorraineCosplay on instagram is making really nice-looking replica shoes - they don't appear to have the adidas logo (probably to protect them from copyright I imagine) but you could probably add those yourself if you really wanted to. I've been told they're being sold for around $170 and while that might be expensive, they do seem to be the most accurate replica that I've seen and the people that have bought them have said that the shoes are comfy and they're really happy with them. If I had the money I would definitely purchase a pair myself!

Glove:
As Athena has mentioned, someone on this thread has identified the gloves as being the Marucci 2014 ELITE Batting Gloves in red.
If you search on Amazon you can find them for around $50, I haven't yet bought myself a pair but a lot of people have said the gloves tend to be a bit big, even in size small. You will need to customise them yourself - Athena and thecatwho have both mentioned how they've done this.

Belt Buckle:
I've only seen one belt so far that has what appears to be the most accurate buckle. It's being sold on etsy for around £160 - I personally think this is really expensive for a belt buy you might find it worth the price because they seem to use quality materials and it really does look so close to the original

These are just a couple of other things that might be useful for other cosplayers:

Red and Blue Hair Cuffs:

Dress:
Thanks to nightclubharley from instagram for the info, the fabric used is a metal mesh fabric
you can get it in gold but will have to paint the diamonds on yourself:
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/fre...d/993814316.html?spm=2114.40010308.4.2.rUlK0d

you can get a gold dress made with this fabric that looks really similar to the one Harley wears (you'll have to add the black diamonds yourself)

Letter J charm:

I haven't been able to find these in gold, but I found some in silver that I thought looked pretty close, you'll just need to do a little bit of customising

Lads and ladies,

Long time lurker, first time poster...

Always had a fascination with prop making and have decides to undertake my first based on its 'simplicity' being Harley Quinns bat. I like the fact it is practical and will look better by being knocked around as opposed to being displayed.

However in saying that, I want to make as close to a screen accurate bat as possible. I know there are several 'official licensed props' from Ikon and Noble available + screen shoto etc... I plan to use all these items to draw inspiration from... so have a few questions I would thoroughly appreciate feedback on, I have read through this entire thread and am hoping some of these questions now have definitive answers...

1) Can someone please send close up and detailed photos of an Ikon replica and Noble Collection replica for analysis...
2) Is there any consensus on the best bat to use as a base? There semester to be a lot in the correct 33" length and generally the right shape, however there seems to be differences in the 'pomel' end of the handle... I though getting a blemishes bat on ebay might be a good start because it is free ofor any finishes... thoughts?
3) Is the GOODNIGHT font agreed to be a customised version of Bernard MT condensed with adjusted kerning etc?
4) I am a little concerned that the bat if not weathered will after completion look too pale as the general bat material (ash maple I believe?) Is quite fair... I don't want a lacquered Shiney finish like it's new and out of the box and want it looking slightly dirty and looking like it's absorbed dirt into the bat over time... I was thinking possibly some kind of oil or wax finish?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

For the glove, I forget who found it, but the one they used in the movie is this batting glove by Marucci.

Then you would take the logo off the strap, and get some blue metallic fabric for the blue triangle. Here is mine. I didn't cover the logo, but to be more screen accurate you would. We had to cut the fingers more than hers because my hands are so little, and they don't make this glove in small. But it's just cool to have the one they actually used!

This is the belt we got.

I hope this helps you!

Where did you find the fabric for the triangle on the glove? Also, how would you remove the logo off the strap?

The fabric we got at joann fabrics. And to remove the logo I would take a thin piece of black thin rubber material and put it over the logo. Or just take a sharpie to the letters. It would be a lot of work to remove it, you'd have to take out the seams and replace it with another fabric and re sew it. AHHHH!! I am patient but that would be a lot. I forget how other people are doing it.

Has anyone found the rounds that go in the holster? Or anything that might be a cheap imitation? Or even what they are supposed to look like?

Never shared photos of my Harley! I'm still working on adding a few details but I was still pretty happy with it. I chose not to do the tattoos for this photoshoot.
Working on the accessories now. ;)

We started making my, rubber, bat! Here are some progress photos. ( for the "GOOD NIGHT" portion )
#1- Just to show you that it's rubber.
View attachment 663728
#2- Here is to show you how we made our stencil. We took a picture, of the bat, and blew it up until it fit just right.
Then cut it out with an x-acto knife, and traced it with a pencil.

#3 Next traced it with a sharpie.

#4 And finally used a red sharpie to color it in.

Where did you get the rubber bat? I can't find any rubber bats that look like wood.

My dad is a prop master for a tv show. So he just literally had one in his office. He had a bat molded and professionally painted. I don't think you can buy a rubber wood looking bat. So sorry I couldn't be much help
:(. Good luck!

Awesome R2 - FYI - not to hijack the thread, but let us know where we can see more details in that R2 and other props.

On Etsy, a seller called Traywick or Traywick Designs, something like that, they sell 3D printed Harley guns as well as her speed loaders, you might want to check that out?
