Patrol Trooper Helmet

So with the new Solo movie coming out, I saw the references for the new Patrol Trooper helmet, and new I wanted to make it. It had the awesome look of the OT helmet, but a bit more aggressive looking, and with more black details.

The printing has already begun, and I hope to have all of the parts put together by the end of the week, so that the cleanup can begin. Then molding to follow shortly afterwards.

Helmet castings will be available soon...

The cleanup has begun on the 3D print. The helmet sections have been glued together, and Bondo has been applied to all of the seams, and some of the larger print line sections.

I'm really hoping to have this all set for molding by the end of the week.

Not yet. Still sourcing a few things. I'll have a price in a few days.

Well it was a very busy weekend. The helmet has been completely smoothed out and a nice gloss blue has been applied.

Also the mold has been made. Here is the first layer of Rebound 25 silicone.

After many layers of silicone have been applied, registration keys are put in place.

And then finally a fiberglass jacket is made.

The first casting is coming soon. I still have to finish the chin details, but it is coming along very nice.

Thanks. I'm not sure if I will be doing the armor yet. It depends on how much of a demand there may be.

This one was painted with automotive grade paints, and it looks even better in person. I'll try to get some higher quality shots in the next day or so.


Also, kits will now be available in the project runs section. This is what it will look like.
