Judith Painting From "IT"

Just started doing this yesterday. Still a long long ways to go, but I'm getting the basic outlines and such done before I start painting it. I'll be using oil paints with (probably) an antiquing varnish at the end. Pretty happy so far though.

Thanks! The jaggedness of her hands is a little strange at first glance, but that's how they are in the film stills so I just went with it. I might smooth them out for aesthetic purposes, but not sure yet. Here's the latest progress pic. I'm working on getting the head proportions just right so it lines up with the movie painting.

Here’s an update! Sketch portion almost done, still a few kinks to work out. Then it’s onto painting.

Judith Painting From "IT"

Update:

Painted her dress yesterday. Now onto the hair, then the flute, then her face and hands. I still need to isolate the colors and see which paints to buy for the most accuracy. Ignore the paint strokes, that’s caused by the way the lighting hits it.

I can't wait to see this finished! I thought the painting was scarier than anything else about the movie. lol

I planned to respond with this as well. I never saw mama so I thought it was very interesting to see how her look influenced that of Judith.
