Star Wars Room Build - UPDATED!

But take care the room gets not to dark. I have the same problem with my starship bridge themed cinema, is it bright enough to see all the details, it distracts from the movies (the darker the room the better). Is it that dark as it should be, all the work was nearly useless cause it can´t really be seen.
I often get asked why i don´t display any props in it, but that would be ...... way to dark.

Still love it, but could have saved myself a lot of work.

absolutley agree. I will be working hard to make sure there is a strategic plan with the lighting for both the room as well as the props displayed. Thanks for the heads up!

Center Cabinet Update . . .

Well, this isn't much of an update folks. A bit more progress with the structure, and a ton of sanding and filling. But progress is progress right?

Center Cabinet Update

Here is this weekends updates on the center cabinet "cap." Enjoy, and thanks for looking!

I have three projector lens's from an old CRT projector. I am going to illuminate each one from underneath, and control the lighting from the control panels shown below.

I test fit several design elements here, mostly piping and a bit of electronic boards.

Well folks, I am in the midst of a long couple weeks of travel for work, so not much progress to report. I will be thrilled when I get back the last week of August and have some time to play in the shop. But hopefully these will tide you over.

Hi All! Sorry for the lack of updates. I have a bit more progress, and then I had to take a small break to travel as well as welcome a new member to the shop . . . an X-Carve! Obviously I needed to build a table for the X-Carve, so that took some time too.

X-Carve Table!

And a quick test of the machine after several days of assembly . . .

Now on to a bit of progress. Hope you all enjoy!

OH YEAH! Hope the new toy working out. Also, interesting little detail you added (took away) with the pin stripes! :)

Thank you my friend. Yep, the new tool has endless possibilities, i just need to focus so I can actually get something done.

The Hyperdrive is looking awesome! This is going to be so awesome!

Thank you very much!

Super clean! I always think to myself "what would I need an x-carve for?" and then I see stuff like this and think "this is EXACTLY what I need an x-carve for!"

Right??? I have looked at X-Carve for several years and finally pulled the trigger. I have to say that my mind was a bit on overload when I first set it up. So much to do!!! And then I settled in and started the columns. It is really awesome to see produced items that I either could not have made, or would have spent days building. very exciting around here right now.
