Welcome.

I also have an idea that takes the load off the end caps. I will reworking my other bag and will be adding it to that.

Heres rough mock up of the bag with the handle. After some discussion with cavx earlier I might trim the main body a bit to make the sliding doors open wider.

Anyway after that I primmed the handle pieces and the end nozzle and gave it a coat of spot putty. These will be ready to mold in no time

Looking good. Those handles need something like a flat bar that sits 90 degrees to the edge of the lid and can extend all the way to the runner that they sit on. This will help make the lid stronger (you can see this in the screen cap I posted above) as we as preventing the lids from sliding left to right.

Could you show me an example of what you mean?

Notice how wide this part of the lid is. It is a reinforcing bar added to the inside of the lid.

I trimmed my vac formed parts to keep the fold over the edge of the tool as strengthener. Guys that make stormtrooper armour call this a return edge. As it turned out, I had to cut back all the return edges but my parts are still 3mm thick and becsuse my handle is molded as part of the lid, there is extra strength anyway.

I might be out of my element here, but I'm pretty sure the 2 plastic discs are clear drums heads.

They may very well be as one flexes like a thin plastic film when Doc points to the shoes.

Not sure what this movie's budget was, but it appears that it was not super high and so they have used what they can to make props.

Also back then, we lived with in a time when you saw a movie in the cinema once, and you could not pause it. When it came out on video, it was mainly VHS (some of us had laser disc at 480 lines) with about 360 horizontal lines of resolution. I remember not even being able to read the MAG properly on the back of the heel counter until DVD which had 720 lines. Now with 1920 of Blu-ray and thanks to the 4K scan Universal did for the BD, we see everything!

Another small update

Got around to prepping the cone and handles for molding and gave them the first coat of rubber

You are doing adding the flat bar thing to the handles? This would have been the time to do it.

Yeah, I have an idea on how to add that. Theres a couple of changes Id like to do in the future. Ill post about the flat bar ill add later on

Update:

I got around to tweaking parts of the bag to make the sliding doors open up more. So I first cutt off 10mm off each side of the main body just so I don’t cutt off to much. In the end I ended up cutting off 20mm off each side and the door open a bit more but its hard to tell for me. What do you guys think?

Got around to finishing the handle molds and started casting. I tried to make it a two part mold but pieces come out better when I just use is as a one dump mold. Some sanding would be required to sand down flat on the underside. I went ahead and mounted it into place

I also added styrene to each side of the handle crevice. This is to align the doors a bit better and keep them from moving out of place in the rails in the end cones
