Astroboy's bandai millennium falcon..finished!

Re: Okay...the elephant in the room....millennium falcon streaking techniques

Anybody has a picture of the 5 footer bottom hull?

I heard this product has the bottom hull picture...

https://www.amazon.com/Crayola-Mill...=1469154756&sr=8-3&keywords=star+wars+crayola

But I don't have access to this product. Anybody?
That is one of the only bottom pics I know. So much so that I don't believe it.

I have a black and white pic of the bottom hull (before additional landing gear) but it's on my work computer.

But in all honesty, most of my work came from from playing detective

Notice that there are earlier renderings of the asset in the film that have areas not painted (dark areas on mandibles) on the right image:

Fantastic! Big THANKS for the reference.

Re: Okay...the elephant in the room....millennium falcon streaking techniques

I use Tamiya weathering kit, it looks like a woman make up kit, I got some super tiny q tips type brushes at local hobby shop, amazing what small size and realistic streaks I could create.

Its a big art pack issued by Crayola the shape of the Falcon, it has a full colour image of the top & the bottom on the case,...they used the 5 foot ANH images......hard to get a good look at it online,...someone needs to buy it (USA) & scan it,......Amazon has it listed but has huge postage on it to bring it here

Amazon(US) doesnt deliver to my country. I can get it from Amazon(Japan thru Tenso) but it cost U$89 just for the item only.
One of our member here has it but I forgot who. Hopefully that someone will read this and help out with the scan.

Re: Okay...the elephant in the room....millennium falcon streaking techniques

I've seen it many times at my local target. I'll try and find it. I would have bought it much earlier had I known!

Re: Okay...the elephant in the room....millennium falcon streaking techniques

Fantastic shots, John! Hi, Jun, let me get it scanned at Staples. I knew I should have taken better care of it. There's a little rip on my Crayola box right beside the dish area (top view). Probably when I moved stuff around. But the bottom view is intact.

Brilliant CJ....a proper full colour image of the underside

Now,....last night ignatz from Starship Modeller posted a link to his many images of the 5 footer back in 2005,....I remember seeing them a while ago,...he had "Forbidden Plastic" labeled on them,....he used to have the images on his own site,....which is now closed,......but now, with encouragement, he's uploaded them again

I hope he doesn't mind putting his link here, because they are very nice images

Re: Okay...the elephant in the room....millennium falcon streaking techniques

Thanks for the link, John!!! I thought I`d never see those photos again.

Here you go, guys...the Crayola 5-footer Falcon bottom view scan. Wish they hadn`t done those light dots. But the inserted cannon looks ok. The engine area looks kind of dark but that`s how the image looks on the box. Hey Astro, great thread -- awesome tips. And beautiful job on your Falcon. After studying all these maybe I`ll be brave enough to tackle those streaks properly.
