You're right it is not red or green. It looks silver and when you watch it in real time, the sun shines on it showing that reflectivity of the silver.

The R is less visible here but the silver/gray color is unmistakeable. Now, just because the R side is silver doesn't mean that the "L" side isn't red. I don't know.
