Show your custom Lightsabers!

Both look great. I personally like B a little better, but it's a win-win situation with whatever you choose.

I like Version A but it could use something around it for a shroud, something not as thick as Version B but the idea is there.

That's exactly what I was thinking. It needs something to break up the black a little. B is just too plain IMO. Even if you just had a flat aluminum (well anything metal looking) piece to give it a lip might help.

So I picked up this 3 cell for $25 not really knowing what it was. It arrived today and I still don't know! Is there such thing as an unmarked Heiland or Heiland bootleg? This has many characteristics of a Heiland, but there is no name stamp on the tube or clamp, and the end cap is quite different.

I've gotten a couple off-brand Heiland knock offs. It seems like the not-MPP style Heiland was kind of the model most commonly emulated. I had one that was branded LIFE, as in Life magazine. It was a two cell but had a clamp/bracket exactly like the one you have there.

Okay-- chopping my shroud in half did the trick. I'm happy now.

Inspired by what PoopaPapaPalps did with a Kalart Automatic, I decided to pick one up as well. It's a cool little unit-- off sized and smaller than usual, but it has a cool hexagon shaped body. Unlike my "kid" sabers I envisioned this one smaller because it belonged to some sort of alien-- something lithe, and slender. The more I thought about it, the more I liked the idea of this odd creepy alien being some sort of assassin. I wanted the saber to reflect that and not be overly bulky.

i love the clamp on that! Nice design work!

and yea, I've gotten a Life Praco flash and a few knock off heilands over the years...I've even had chop jobs - people cutting up flashes to make reflector dish sockets

So...I'll post some pictures today. I have three on my workbench, finished one and am about to finish a second today. I'm using all camera/electronics parts and some T track!

I actually used VHT tape for the grips. Much cleaner job. The track sits a little higher, but 24 hours after application, the grips are rock hard.

Here is a Project from the Novel " I, JEDI" that I have been working on.

The Corran Horn lightsaber

Which was built from the handle of a Speeder bike.
