Logan's Run Revolver.

I’ve ordered an acrylic display case and made a stand for one of the guns. The “hand” was made from styrene sheet and car body filler. The disc was cut from acrylic sheet and painted red on the underside only. This disc doesn’t have to be fixed in any way, as it is held in place when the gun is mounted.
To mount the gun, the screw in the handle is removed and a threaded rod is put in its place.
The case I’ve ordered has a black base. I’m probably going to lay a thin sheet of aluminium on it and paint the hand silver. Basically the same style as the Master Replica cases.

The idea and basic shape of the hand came from the Rylo flame gun stands.

I’ve just got some mother of pearl paint. I’m going to test it on some spare grips first. If the results are better than I already have, I’ll re-do the grips on my metal gun.

Awesome gun, the black paint job looks perfect. Don't suppose you could give the process you did to paint the aluminum so well. Im trying to paint aluminum with no success, been using self etching primer and spray paint but it still comes right off!!

Hi Scharfe,
If I’m going to paint an aluminium surface, I finish it off with course squadron sanding sticks. I think this would be similar to using 400 grade wet and dry. This gives a lot of surface scratches, which I think gives a better key for the primer.

I then clean it with cellulose thinners.
I use black etching primer (Clostermann Etch Primmer Black 446). One coat of this covers all the fine surface scratches and gives a smooth surface. The primer is touch dry in minutes, but I wait at least half a day before applying the top coat.
On the DS revolver I used Simoniz Tough Black, but I have used Halfords car paints on this primer with no problems.

Did you make this one too?

Hey thanks for the directions, maybe i didn't let my primer cure long enough, ill have to fallow you suggestions and see what happens.

I just watched this movie last night for the first time in years, and remembered why I had a crush on Jenny Agutter... :love

Only just now came across this build and highly impressed! The Logan Trilogy is one of my favorites and I always wanted to see someone's interpretation of the revolver. Great work; I hope it still has a place of pride on the shelf!
