NeoRutty's Prop Projects - ANH Stunt Stormtrooper Bucket - Pointers requested?

Re: NeoRutty's Prop Projects - Yoda Lambo wheel and prepping a grenade!

Well according to my inbox I never cleared up, the first time I messaged you was January, 2014, talking grenade finding strategy... And I had already been hunting a few months...

So this january 12 will be 3 years!
Happy anniversary

Re: NeoRutty's Prop Projects - Nearing the Obi finish line.

Took forever to get around to finishing this! But it's done (thought now as I see the pics, the screw had some black scraped off when I tightened the lambo wheel)

Anyway... The praco yoda pics! (thanks to and halliwax who went in on the lambo model with me)

I should not that at one point the bottle of glue I had bought had a crack in it, so I got crazy glue on the grips. Because of this I bought spray rubber which looked really cool when done (same I actually used on the bolsey version).

In Vancouver, it hasn't been t-shirt weather in like 7 months. Still raining. Hopefully means a dry summer spell is coming.

Re: NeoRutty's Prop Projects - Yoda Praco finally done

Hey NeoRutty! Wicked job on BOTH of those Yoda lightsabers!! If you hadn't mentioned one was scratch built I wouldn't have looked to see what the differences were. Not that I have an inkling of an idea about Yoda sabers, but still, they look so much alike! I bet you could find someone to lathe and knurl that endcap on your scratch-built and then they'd be even more difficult to tell apart.

By the way, what's an ED209 case? All I can think of is that wee little ROBOCOP models may have come in them originally. ;)

I THINK this is the link (firewall at work won't let me see photos)

http://www.therpf.com/showthread.php?t=178890

Ed-209 is a member and a guy who worked on the visual dictionary... him and another guy created the original Yoda saber, and this is the same case he has it in (Yoda's "original saber" is currently in Ed-209's possession)

As for the Bolsey... I kind of like it as it is... a bit more round and bulky... All eye-balled from photos. The knurling I've thought of having done, but a lathe is not something I could come by easily, heh.

WOW! That was WAY COOL of ed-209 to post up all of those photos!!!

If only we knew a guy with the original V2:rolleyes and could convince him to be so wonderfully generous...and if he posted measurements and stuff too:D.

Re: NeoRutty's Prop Projects - Yoda Praco finally done

So I went to my buddy's place in Seattle to do up a TFA Rey saber for my brother... Roman's Graflex.

I was complaining how much I hated to do the grips, and wanted some sort of template, so leave it to my buddy to cut one up in a few minutes that'll do the trick.

And then came the drilling of the holes for the grips... last time we just made a quick channel... this time he went further...

Anyway, I kept these versions. Could come in handy... especially since as soon as I finished the Roman's Graflex with MOSTLY Wannawanga parts, I really dug it.

Like I'm gonna have to make myself one.

I have a couple of real graflex sabers but holy... this saber all done up and pristine off the assembly line is beautiful (SORRY CHAIM! heh)

Re: NeoRutty's Prop Projects -Roman's Graflex TFA Wannawanga parts!

Sweet! You guys can drill my ESB Graflex next time ;)

That's what I was thinking... so fast now. Once the template and cradle were finished, we FLEW through the rest.

another reason I want to make my own TFA... it was just so easy... and seeeexxxxxy... damn it's a nice looking saber.
