I need to ask - what is "saltwater etching"?
This is the tutorial I followed to produce the etch. I didn't write the tutorial so thumbs up to ARKM for providing the walkthrough guide.

I also produced my stencil in a more basic way, by using tape to mark off the areas that weren't to be etched.

I used an old xbox 360 PSU as the power supply for the etching and left it in the saltwater solution for a total of 30 minutes, checking the depth every ten minutes or so.

Nice! I've definitely been wanting to experiment with etching after seeing the Satele Shan saber and then this. I think he used root kill stuff to etch.

No story this time. Just looked at the PCB I was going to work with and loved the tones of it. I started there and worked outward, totally unexpected result that I really like. Usually I mix and match a lot of pieces, or build around a body-- but building off the card was a lot of fun.

Bulb socket emitter
King Sol body (wet sanded, scotch-brite-d)
King Sol Clamp and wheel
Lure tape
Aluminum bar grips, 2-.75" and 4-.5"
Pop Rivets
Black single rivet D-ring

Niiice.
very clean and sleek. Love it!
whats that circuit board?

Made a little progress on the Heiland this weekend. Added a lever.

Board is from a vintage calculator.

Did you strip that highland clamp? Or did it come raw like that? Looks really cool. I've only seen one other like that, on a saber here. Never seen one like that in the wild.

Yeah, i stripped the paint off the heiland clamp.

heres one more im working on.
on the fence about the grips.
suggestions?

I wondered who snagged that Peak the other day... the one sans the flash bracket that I totally forgot to bid on when I went out to dinner...

I wish I could solve the round grip issue. I want to do it too-- but it never seems quite right. It always feels hardware store to me. Maybe if they were thinner?

It's a tight rope for sure, but I'm diggin that Peak... I should finish my Peak... *stares at unfinished projects* *begins sobbing uncontrollably*

My custom sabers, the one with the o-rings was the first one I built.
Obviously mostly built from tcss-parts, soundboards are Nano Biscottes.

I love the switch box on the choke of the one, that couldn't have been fun to wire up and install. Tell me, where did you get the red anodized buttons from? I've been looking, but have been unable to find.

The buttons are killplugs from tcss.
The switchbox was 3d-printed in stainless steel by shapeways and installing it was a real pain :D, the loading port almost didn't fit and there was no room for a screw so it was attached with the led-holder.
