Hi All,

Recipe

Troopers - are from Bandai and built straight out of the box and I used black stockings to cover the joints. The partial shuttle was made using foam board/plastic card and balsa wood, the grebblies are from left over Bandai parts and parts from the parts box.

Base - is a piece of wood and the sand was done using a mix of spakfilla and sand, the rock face was built up using foam and paper and the plaster cloth was added and once dry a mix of spakfilla and sand was used to cover it. The debri on the ground was made using left over pieces of plastic card.

Ron

Great stuff!

Thanks for the black stockings idea, I'll have to keep that in mind. it may allow me to keep the joints movable without having to fill them in with putty

Yeah, very nice and cool idea with the stockings. Question, you are saying the troopers are straight out of box, how are you getting the spacing between the eye lenses and the brow band? The Bandai kit has them flush.

Anytime blakeh and it does save time on having to fill in the joints and here is a link to a tutorial on how I do it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s76_1yxiaM8&t=69s

Cheers Dobber and the Sandtroopers came with either the flush brow band or a new brow band that allows you to have it where you want it as the brow band is of a fexible plastic.

Your tutorial is brilliant! Thank you so much for posting that. Going to do that with my troopers now.
