Yea I think they tie the mp3 release with each individual form (cd, cassette, vinyl) when it ships or is released.
Hopefully they just release it now. I'll check back on this later today after I order.

Dang, I envy you!^ those do look good, wish I would have seen those before spending too much on a "close enough" pair of MDR-3 headphones :facepalm

Nothing beats vintage. I'd personally have a close enough vintage than a perfect replica.
Me too. I want a set of MDRs but can't afford even a pair of 7s. These look great for me.:lol yea that's why I didn't mind buying them too much. Always love that vintage stuff.
On the real thing the headphone on the side with that funny shaped piece should ride on a metal strip. And the wires should go through the cylinder.

I know. For 30 bucks, they're pretty good. Just fill in the "STAR LORD" embossing and paint the speakers and apply decals to the greeblie, headband, and speakers
Yeah I get where you're coming from.I would want to emulate the metal strip. Maybe use some parts from the shapeways kit if that's even possible.
Yeah. Personally I am trying to save up to do the shapeways kit. I really like the whole look of the headphones. I remember seeing ones like that all the time when I was a kid.
If I could get that kit I would. Buuut this is so much cheaper. And it works!
Does anyone know where to get those orange foam covers or something similar? I bought these ones off of ebay a while ago but they are pretty dull in person:
