Deadpool 2:Cable

I've been lingering on here for a while watching but I decided it was time to make an account and share something lol, so anyway here is the arm I completed yesterday.

3 d printed mine and painted it. there are free files out there for it. I could not find one that was reasonably priced and looked decent

Here is my BFG in action. Had an airsoft buddy over and was showing him the BFG.

I have been working on it, I bought a cheap one just in time for the movie premier and went in costume with my mate who has a screen accurate DP suit but it wasn't good enough, I live in New Zealand where its a pain in the butt to get a lot of stuff, including the blueforce tact vest... thats gonna be the most expensive costume piece, in a few days I aim to get the belt I need, other than that, the vest, pants, the proper boots and the pistol holsters and side mag holders I have everything sorted costume wise.

So I've been reading this forum ever since I saw the movie, and this is by far the most avid and interesting forum I've seen yet lol. I love to see the many different approaches to creating this BFG, now you're gonna hear about mine! I am a very avid 3D modeler and printer, especially when it comes to movie props and replicas. I have a couple screen used props from famous movies like Kingsman and 13 Hours, and those props are made of a mixture of hard foam and soft rubber, this is where my idea for my cable gun begins. In the pictures (hopefully they load) you will see the beginning of the BFG in CAD. After learning that the original shrouds on the prop were custom designed I thought I should follow that rule and make mine as close as I can see based on my reference photos. My plan with these files is to 3D print them, and them means everything I can possible design, then sand those pieces to a very fine quality. From there I can then make tons of mold of each part and cast these in a yet to be chosen firm rubber, thus allowing me to make the piece look the part but feel a hell of a lot lighter. This is all in my head at the moment, only thing I have actually done is spend hours modeling this beast. The model itself currently looks very nice in my opinion but I am still figuring out the best way to design parts so they print easy and can be molded easily. The only parts of this gun I plan to buy are the stock, sights, maybe the picatinny (Haven't decided that yet either), and the flashlight maybe. Once the file is done I will be sure to post it free to everyone, because I don't want to be that dick who boasts about his design and then doesn't share it. Keep up the great work everyone and thanks for getting me this far, and thank you for listening to my thought process and mind dump hahahaha. @Jackal where is the arm progress??? I am digging your take.

I've been pretty busy. I'm involved in the local car and race communities and with summer in full swing, time becomes scarce. I also mentor for a Junior Engineering group and really only work on the costume when I'm mentoring, but that isn't without plenty of interruptions.

I did get the fingers rough shaped though. I'm thinking of redoing the outer arm part as I'm not sold on the shape I made it.

Ayyyy its me :p

I'm currently redoing 80% of my costume and fixing it up for supercon in a couple weeks. I made the taco pouches and added some lights to my arm. I still have to cover up some areas with electrical tape, but I think it's going to look cool. Next up is the grenades.

I used pcv w the correct outer dimensions and found wooden balls that were 38mm in diameter. They were a perfect base to pull epoxy sculpt over.
I have the lid to a 35mm film cannister as the bottom.
An hour of sanding later and 2 are ready for paint!

Nice job! I really like this, I'm building a "lower budget" BFG too, and this is awesome!

Bountys Hunted : Thanks ! It wasn't only to go cheap , I love building stuff too....
TechnicallyToki: love the lights on the arm! I am thinking of doing a second version of the arm now that there is more reference.

Malibu139, did you make those pieces or did you pick them up from a site. I am starting my build, but want 3D pieces so the BFG isn’t so heavy. Would appreciate any help.

I eBay’ed the stock. Made the launchers.flashlight and scope. The rest was 3D printed. A member here made the file for me and I got it printed and cleaned it up and painted it.

Shipping is expensive lol. Also the rifle is made of MDF and made by a friend back when we only had the one reference pic of Cable, I only modified some details onto it and into their correct positions.
