I'm remastering the hull and cabin as well as adding to the parts list. Starting with a chassis.

Will this be available as a kit? Count me interested :)

On a side note, has anyone ever made a SS SID replica?

L

Not sure if its Studio scale but Uncle Bill (Uncle Models) has done a beautiful model of Sid. As for the Mobile it will be available as a kit, I put the master for the chassis under rubber and went with the proportions mix recomended and its taking days to go off, I estimate a few more days and then I'll start the build. The hull and cabin have been re done and I will be scribing the panel detail on.

Cast the chassis parts and put one together.

Great!! Silly question but doesn't this use the chassis from the Tiger Joe tank? Or are they getting too expensive to find these days?

Wasnt happy with the last chassis so did a new set of masters and made new moulds.

My RC version next to the Master shell on a new kit chassis. Original Mobiles had 53 link tracks, If you want to go the RC route then you have to lose a link otherwise the sprockets will not catch the tracks and will slip. Dont forget the originals were pulled on wire.

Drooling:p First time I hear they were pulled with wires. Looking very good of course and eager to see the next posting.

After you demonstrated the RC version to me at the IPMS Nationals I know this is going to be another superb build!
Can't wait to see more.

Primered Hull and Cabin, Tidied up and a nose job.

Panel detail scribed in and now ready for moulding, There will be the invariable filling to do then a bit of re scribing by the builder at the hull join but at least you will have something to go on.

Fantastic job as usual...question: why no wheels and no tracks?

Cheers Joberg, The wheels and tracks come from a Tiger Joe toy tank, these were used on the originals. Getting hard to find now but not impossible. But they can cost a lot depending on if the owner knows what they were used for. I will be looking at the tracks I did a few years back. I took one link and put lugs on it and cast multiples so by drilling and pinning them together you had a working set of tracks, not good enough for RC but perfect for static display and a push every now and again :)

First pulls, Cabin (Untrimmed) and Driver figure cast up.
