Spent most of the day with a dremal (Home made) and thined the inner walls to the point where I went thru in some places, Fibreglassed it inside and gave it a first primer indicator coat.

Skipping ahead a bit, I have made the engine pods removable so that during transportation I dont damage the fins etc.

Hi! Great looking model but I have one question.. With the lengths you have gone to for accuracy, why change the underside so dramatically? The episode "Sub Smash" shows numerous shots of the underside for reference.. and the intakes are clearly not there. I have always assumed that the grills on the front of the engine pods were the intakes.

When you trying to make a model of a Sci Fi subject and try to make it work as seen on the show, sometimes you have to make allowances, I draw the line at having Propellers and rudders were they are not on the original. The intakes shown are for the water jets to power it on the surface, the Positioning is to assure the ship can rise up as much as possible to simulate Sea skim. The Grill has been added but will just be for show, the "Real" Inltakes will have the Light bank covering them while the Model is on show. I will post more pics asap.
